"Hey Jackie, I need the key to apartment 470."
"Yes sir." The old woman says as she pulls open a drawer behind the desk. She pulls out two sets of keys and hands them both to Taehyung.
"Now, keep doing that Algebra. See where that got you? Maybe you should have been a better person." Taehyung says, nearly scaring Jungkook who knew it was a joke.
Jackie on the other hand was absolutely worried for her job and her life.
Taehyung turned around, dragging Jungkook with him. Once the two are in the elevator, they both break into a fit of giggles that turns into hard core laughter that explains the snorts and choking that come afterwards. And by choking I mean Taehyung was snorting to try and make Jungkook laugh but accidentally swallowed a fly that got stuck in the back of his throat. Then he coughed ridiculously for five minutes just trying to get the fly out. By this time they were already out of the elevator and halfway down the hallway.
"So, this is the apartment." Taehyung says after he opens the door and lets Jungkook in.
"Wow." Jungkook says. And that was the correct response.
There were only two apartments on this floor. Taehyung's was across the hall from Jungkook's. This floor was reserved for the important people in the company. Apartment 470 was Jin's but he moved into a house with Namjoon on Tuesday. Jin was going to give Jungkook this apartment if Taehyung hadn't suggested that Jungkook take this one.
The apartment was fully furnished with burgundy furniture, gold accents, and bamboo floors. There was a fireplace next to Jungkook on the same wall as the door. Facing the fireplace was a huge burgundy couch with white accent pillows. The coffee table was a marble slab on gold legs that sat discreetly on a geometric grayscale rug. The rest of the room was similar but that would take too long to explain.
The kitchen had white cabinets and marble counters to match with the stainless steel appliances. The backsplash was subway tiles and at the island were bamboo bar stools. As Jungkook found out when he opened a drawer, the kitchen was fully supplied with dishes and minor appliances, it was just all packed away neatly in the cabinets.
Each room had its own aesthetic and its own bathroom but the room that really said the words 'master bedroom' was the one with the California King bed that had an ivory canopy over it that matched the curtains. The bed was stained ebony along with the side tables and dressers in the room.
The colors were all pretty neutral and Jungkook fell in love with it.
"Do you like it?" Taehyung asked from the doorway.
"I love it. Are you sure I'm allowed to have this apartment?"
"Well Jin doesn't need it anymore and this floor is only for the most important employees. Since you're an intern, that means you come third to Jin and second to me which means that you are next in line for this apartment."
"W-wait. I'm third i-in charge?"
"Yeah. I'm gonna be honest though, I don't know why Jin needs an intern but he does everything for a reason. I guess we'll know soon."
"Oh."
"Here." Taehyung says as he hands Jungkook two keys: one was basic and the other was purple.
"The purple one is a key to my apartment, as promised."
"You didn't have to."
"I know. But you're in an unfamiliar place so if someone that's at least slightly familiar is close, you can feel a little bit more comforted."
"Yeah."
"So, you have full access to the apartment now and like I said, we'll move everything in on Monday. If there are any things you want to change about the house, just let me know and I'll get it changed soon."
"Okay, thanks Taehyung."
"Anytime."
