Chapter Ten

"What's up with you two?" Jin asks as Jungkook and Taehyung walk in the office together, laughing at something Taehyung had said about Jackie.

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asks, eyebrows knitting together in confusion.

"I mean, you two just walked into the office together the day after Jungkook moved in across the hall from you."

"Oh, I brought him coffee this morning."

"Uh-huh. Well, Taehyung you have a stack of papers I need converted to pdfs. Jungkook, you have your own stack. Also, your desk should be here by Friday."

"You didn't have to, Jin-hyung."

"I know, but I feel bad letting you sit on a pallet of pillows. It's not good for your posture either."

"Well, thank you for the consideration."

"Another thing, I have a party I must attend Saturday. Would you two mind accompanying Namjoon and I?"

Taehyung looks at Jungkook with a look that says, 'What could it hurt?'

"I guess. What is the dress code?"

"Black tie. Do what you will with that. I have a meeting to attend with another CEO from across town."

"I got all of the things you asked for, babe." Namjoon says as he stands to put on his coat.

"Wait, you're leaving us here?"

"Yes. I assume that you two are adult enough to not break something or, you know, burn the building down."

"We can try."

"Taehyung, just- Jungkook I'm trusting you to keep this pyromaniac over here from lighting something on fire."

"I wouldn't say I'm a pyromaniac. I'm just a person who likes to watch fire."

"You know, I'm late. Bye Taehyung. Bye Jungkook." Jin says as he glances at his watch.

"Bye!" The younger two say back at the same time.

"What do you say we get out of here?" Taehyung asks when the older two are out of the room.

"Ditching work? I think not. Did you see those stacks of paper?"

"I did. And I don't want to do it."

"Nuh-uh, Taehyung. I'm not letting you ditch work just because you don't want to do it. I promise, one day you won't have work to do and you'll miss being busy all the time."

"I probably won't because I'll be sleeping or eating all of the time."

"You like arguing, don't you?"

"You're speaking with the president of the debate club from back in the day."

"What are you, a 90's pop music channel from Sirius XM?"

"I don't get that reference but I'm going to pretend like I did."

"Just do your work, Taehyung."

"If you insist." Taehyung says as the two walk back to their respective work stations.

Four minutes later, Jungkook's hard work is interrupted by the distinct sound of a piano at the beginning of a Britney Spears song. But not just any Britney Spears song. No, this was the one and only Baby One More Time.

"Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know. That something wasn't right, yeah." Taehyung sings, standing up and dancing around the room.

"Are you okay?"

"Perfectly fine, are you okay?"

"I'm good if you're good." Jungkook answers as he resumes his work.

"No, you're handsome."Namjoon says as Jin opens the door to the office.

"No, you- oh. You got Taehyung to work."

"Hey!" Taehyung says, sounding offended.

"Yeah. It took him tiring himself out by playing Britney Spears on repeat, but we got there."

"I should have tried that sooner." Jin says with a smile as he wraps an arm around Namjoon's waist.

"When can I go home?" Taehyung whines and Jungkook's heart flutters a little at the sight.

"How about we go get lunch and when we get back, you finish that stack of papers and then you're free to go. Both of you." Jin says and Jungkook looks up with wide eyes.

"Me?"

"Yeah you. let's go. I want to get their before the lunch rush."

"What time is it?"

"Noon."

"I think we might be a part of the lunch rush." Namjoon says.

"Oh well, we've got all day."

"I just want to go home." Taehyung whines again and as the four are walking to the elevator, Jungkook's hand brushes against Taehyung's. Neither of the boys move their hands right away because neither really notice until they feel the butterflies in their stomachs. Not Taehyung nor Jungkook noticed that Jin had seen the hand incident and was smiling evilly.

A/N: This chapter kinda sucks and I'm sorry. I'm getting contacts today and I'm so excited. I hate my glasses. Anyways, I was working on chapter thirty five and it took an unexpected turn. Oops. That's all I have for today guys, see you next Tuesday.
