Chapter 5

"I am right here General. What is it you came here for?" I said and rose from my chair. My friends and a few of the other students gasped. "Princess Euphemia?" Amelia asks turning to me? I nod. "The Queen sends for your presence Milady. Your coronation has been postponed." Amelia said. "You mean to tell me that you came here, interrupted the class I am in, and blew not only my knight's cover, but mine as well to tell me that my coronation has been postponed? You better give me a better answer than that General! Or else I swear the only castle guard position you will have is border duty!" I said very annoyed. I could not let her know that I have lost the will to take authority.
"Your Coronation has been postponed, due to the possible return of the king. An injured old man showed up claiming to be the king. He also claims that you can prove his words are true." One of the guards behind Amelia said. "Father?" I said with a shaky voice. "Amelia does he speak the truth?" Calix asked. Amelia nodded, "That is why your mother sent for you." I sighed, "Very well. I will come, but I am bringing a few friends with. Friends who have now found out the truth a little sooner than I had wished." I snapped. I turned to my friends. "Amaya, Seraphina, Rose, Topaz, and Moka? Would you mind joining me please. You can text your parents on the way." I said to them, my voice softening. Seraphina and Moka avoided eye contact, but nodded and stood. The rest stood as well. "Ms. Snow? May we be dismissed?" The teacher was stunned, but nodded. "Thank you. May we have our homework?" I asked. She nodded again and walked over to her desk, pulled out seven packets and handed each of us one. "Thank you Ms. Snow." I said and smiled. Still shocked she nodded once more. "Where do you think you are going? School is not over for another half hour." I heard the familiar voice of Ashley say. I sighed and turned to her. "I am going home to see my father who has been missing for eleven years. Not to be rude, but what do you want." I said.
She stood, walked over to me, and hugged me. She moved so quickly that no one could react. "Come back okay? It will not be the same without you. No one else stands up to me or has been able to get their way around here." She said smiling. "Alright Ashley. Thank you." I said. She smiled and returned to her seat. Things will definitely be different now. I followed my guards out into the hall. My friends and Calix left after me. We passed Matthew's class. "Amelia wait. Would you come with me." She nodded. "The rest of you wait here." I said. I knocked on Matthew's door and heard a grumpy voice say enter. I walked in followed by Amelia. "Oh hello Euphemia and... Amelia?" Matthew said confused, when he saw Amelia his eyes widened. "Hello Matthew. I would like you to report to the castle after school is over. I have just received news that my Father may have returned." I said. Matthew looked confused and shocked. "I can leave now. Ms. Candy!" He snapped when he said the teacher's name. "Yes sir." A young woman with pale pink hair said, quickly standing, and hurrying over to Matthew. "Please take over the class. I have been summoned to the castle." She looked confused, but nodded anyway, "Of course sir." Matthew grabbed a bag from behind his desk and quickly followed me out the door. The second the door shut Matthew hugged me "I am going home at last." He said as he broke away from the hug smiling. "Yes, home." I said.

We entered the castle and quickly went to the hospital wing. The closer I got to the hospital wing, the stranger I felt. I looked down at my hands to see them glowing blue. This is bad. My powers must be acting up. I quickly glanced at my back and saw the hidden scars turn blue. I briefly closed my eyes and tried to will my powers to stop. I glanced at my back again and it was normal again. I looked at my hands and they were no longer glowing. I sighed. "Are you alright Lady Euphie?" I heard Calix say." I turned to look at him standing beside me. "Yes I am alright Calix." I said smiling at him. "Here we are." Amelia said. She opened a door and right inside on the other side of a curtain was a man and Mother. His back was to me and I could see the familiar scars on his back that I have hidden on my back. Does that mean he has wings as well. I gasp. My mother and the man look at me. The man looks old. He has long dark blue hair and a dark blue beard and mustache. He had the same silver colored eyes as me. "Father." I say quietly. He stands and faces me. His arms outstretched. I move quickly into his arms. "It is you." I breathe as I sink into his hug. "Yes. Hello my princess." His voice was deep but calming.
After a few minutes we separate and I look at Mother. "It is him. This man is the king, my father." I say smiling. "How exactly do you know?" Mother says. "I can not explain now, but I promise to later. If the three of us can be alone." I said. Mother nodded. "Who are your friends?" My father asks. "Oh! Everyone. These are my parents. Queen Callista and King Natair. Mother, Father? This is Seraphina, Rose, Amaya, Topaz, and Moka, my personal knight and best friend Calix, and General Matthew." I said. "Matthew? Matthew! My old friend. It has been long." My father said smiling and hugging Matthew after he realized who Matthew was. My father's smile looked fake, but it is probably because he has been away for so long. "Child! Please show friends to your quarters. Send the young boy with Calix. Then come to my quarters." Mother said. "Yes mother right way. Girls, Topaz, Calix follow me." I said to mother before turning and addressing my friends. I walked out of the hospital wing, followed by my friends.
We entered my room. "Euphie? Our friends are not happy with you right now. I think you should talk to the girls. I will talk with Topaz." Calix whispered to me. I sighed, "You are right, but we should talk to all of them together." He put his hand on my shoulder. "Guys wait up. We need to talk to you. Please listen." Calix said. Our friends stopped, turned and looked at us. Seraphina and Moka looked sad and a bit angered. The rest looked pretty upset.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Everyone. I need to apologize." I opened my eyes and continued, "I have been acting like a royal pain since General Amelia arrived at school. I did not tell you the truth, because I was not allowed to. It was against my mother's word. I was supposed to be crowned and given the title of Crown Princess after school today and I was going to invite you to meet my mother, to learn the truth, but I never got the chance to and I am sorry. None of you have said a word since we left class. I am so sorry." I felt arms around and it snapped me out of a daze. I looked to see all my friends around me as they hugged me.
"Don't cry Mia." I heard Moka say, I reached up to my eyes and found tears. I had not even realized that I was crying. "I am sorry." I said again. "Stop apologizing Euphemia. You already said that you're sorry." Seraphina said. I smiled, "Okay Seraphina, but I must go to Mother's quarters before she sends a royal search party." I said giggling lightly. "Okay. uh Where is your room??" Rose asked. Calix and I smiled, "This is my room." They all looked around before turning back to me. "Oh my gosh!" "I don't believe it." "This room is bigger than my entire house." They all looked stunned. "My closet is even bigger." I said pointing to my closet door. The girls shriek and run into my closet. "Take Topaz to your room Calix." I say. He nodded and looked cautiously at my closet door. I laugh as I leave my room. I make my way quickly to mother's room and I knock on the door. "Enter." I hear my mother say. "Hello Mother." I said as I entered.
