"Oh my gosh. That's so adorable." Moka said as soon as we got back to the room. "I told you he liked you, but I didn't realize how much." Seraphina said. "Way to go man." Topaz said and awkwardly hugged Calix. "Engagement Party? Bridal Shower? Bachelor Party?" Rose said. "What does the ring look like?" Moka asked. I showed them my hand. My ring was simple.
It was white gold and had the words Calix and Euphemia Together in love engraved on the band. "I thought you two were already engaged." Amaya said. "We were, but that kind of wedding would not have been real to us. That was a marriage based on what our kingdoms needed. Not on a feeling we shared." I said. "Yes. We could hate each other and still have to get married. This wedding will mean more because there is a love shared." Calix said. He took my hand and held it up. Calix then released my hand and put his hand out. I put mine on his. One by one our friends did the same. "Friends Now. Alteria Forever." I said. We all threw our hands in the air and all said Alteria Forever a second time. We all laughed. Soon it was time to sleep.
The girls and I all slept in the same room. Topaz was with Calix and his brothers. I woke to the sound of Calix shouting. "Euphie we have to go now!" He said. He looked older. He was dressed in a knight's uniform, his sword drawn. "Wait, what is going on?" I asked. I rubbed my eyes and got out of bed. "We are under attack." He said, pulling me toward the door. "Father. I have the twins." I heard a voice say. I looked to see a young girl about my age. "Mother. Here." She handed me a little girl about three. "Good. Get to the safe house. Go and I love you all." He said. I watched as he ran off before a boulder from a catapult landed in front of him and he disappeared from sight.
"NO!" I screamed. I fell to my knees as power exploded from me. I closed my eyes and opened them again. This time it was to everyone. I was in bed looking up at all of my friends, a few of Xenia's castle guard, both mine and Calix's parents, his brothers, and sister. "What, What is wrong?" I asked. I tried to sit up but realized I was bound. I looked to mother, then to father, then to Calix. "Faerydae." Father said. I knew what happened. "Could all of you leave us? She does not need those. She is fine now." Father said. "She kept thrashing out your majesty." "That sounds like she is crazy." "She needs a doctor." Calix's brothers said. "Maxwell, Theodore, and Everett! To your room. NOW!" I heard the Queen snap. The three boys left in a hurry. The Queen, King, and Royal guard left as well. That left Mother, Father, Calix, and our friends. "We should go too." Seraphina said. "No. There is something you deserve to know." I said. I tried to sit up again. "Calix. Can you get these things off." I asked slightly annoyed. "I want to but I do not have the keys. Mother does." He said. I sighed. "Fine. Everyone stand back." I said. They all backed away. "I closed my eyes and felt my power rising. I opened my eyes and I was standing beside my father. "Ow." I said. I had never teleported out of something so tight. It hurt a little. "How can you teleport?" Father asked. "I do not know. I just can." I looked at my friends. They all looked scared. "Please do not be afraid." I said. "Not. Ju-just surprised." Seraphina said clearly scared.
"Well you now know I can do magic, but that is only half of it. Do you want to know the rest our secret?" I asked. "If there is more then yes." Moka said. "What do you mean by our secret?" Topaz asked. "She means that I as well share this secret." Father said. Our friends nodded slightly and I closed my eyes. I felt my wings appear again on my back. I opened my eyes and I was lowly floating alongside my father. "You have wings." Rose said. "Yes. I do. I am an Angel." "Technically we are Nephalems. If we were full angels we would not be able to retract our wings. Only a king or queen may become a full Angel. There has only been one. About three hundred years ago." Father said. "Oh. That makes sense. I think?" I said. I heard a knock. "Are you all alright in there?" It was the Queen. "Yes Mother everything is fine." Calix said. "I have come to release the princess." She said. "That is alright Mother. I have already picked the lock. I am knight remember." I heard a small laugh. "Yes my son you are. Would you like to join me in the throne room please." The Queen asked. "All of us?" He asked. "No my son. I wish to speak to you and Euphemia." She said.
He looked at me and I nodded. I snapped my fingers and landed lightly on the ground. "Alright we will be right out Mother." "Thank you my son." Calix and I went out the door and followed the Queen to the throne room. I noticed the increase in guards. Calix must have noticed as well because he took my hand. I looked up at him. "What is going on." I whispered. "I do not know." He whispered back, "Stay close to me. If something happens, you must not reveal yourself." I nodded and looked at the floor. We entered what I will assume is the throne room. "We have to take one of two options immediately." The Queen said. "What options? Why?" Calix asked. "We must have the wedding within the next two days or postpone it till a very much later date. Leterra is advancing on our soldiers." The king said stepping forward. "Then I must join the fight. I am one of Alteria's best warriors." Calix said.
"If you go into battle Calix I am going as well. I will come in handy if we are to truly defeat the Letterian invaders." He nodded. "We will join the battle mother." Calix said. "She is a princess. She can not fight." The king said. "Fath..." Calix started. I stepped in front of him and looked him in the eye. He stopped talking. "Alteria Forever. I love you." I whispered knowing I could very well be imprisoned for speaking on my own. I turned toward his parents. I felt Calix take my hand. "Your Majesty? I can fight and I can prove it." I said confidently. The king nodded, "You have some nerve speaking out of turn Princess, but very well. Sir Nicholas! Front and center." An older looking man in armor stepped forward, "If you can get him to surrender I will allow you to join the fight Princess." I nodded, "Deal." The king nodded and Nick lunged forward, sword drawn. I stepped to the side. Nick missed. "You're quick Princess, but not as quick as I am." Nick said. He moved to hit me with his sword. I jumped back and hit a wall. I realised I was in a corner. "I have you now. Surrender Princess." He said. I looked at Calix and he nodded. "No! Alteria does not surrender." I said. Nick raised his sword and plunged it down. I held up my hands and a barrier appeared. His sword shattered on impact. He stepped back and pulled out a bow. My eyes grew wide briefly. "You can dodge my sword but no one can dodge arrows. He fired. He was quick and managed to fire five of them in less than thirty seconds. I dodged and glanced at Calix. "Euphemia! Don't!" I heard Calix shout. I did not listen. I jumped as my wings came out. I flew about ten feet in the air. "Adiungere diis cum angelis per potentiam quae est in me: Da mihi fortitudinem, et imperium in praesidium" I said. A magic barrier completely surrounded me. Nicholas' arrows were absorbed by my barrier and fired back. None of them actually hitting him. His eyes grew wide. "I-I surrender." Nicholas said dropping the bow and holding up his hands. I nodded and snapped my fingers. My wings and the barrier disappeared. I landed lightly on the ground. My legs gave out as I touched the ground. I felt someone catch me. I looked up to see Calix. Then everything went dark.
