At the hospital, Leia Fox lied unconscious in the Emergency Room. She was stripped from her hockey gear and wore a hospital gown over top of her long sleeve and leggings. The doctor advised the nurses not too move Leia's body around too much. She was suffering a concussion, but no one knew as she wasn't awake and she couldn't tell anyone how she felt.

The JV Ducks from Eden Hall had finished their game with a win by two points. Most of the players were worried, but had to remain focused for the game. Coach Orion was surprised with the outcome. The team was composed of kids who'd known each other for years on end and now a member was missed. A member was brought off the ice by paramedics and Orion was very impressed with how well the team performed.

Monitors were hooked to the blonde's body and she was out cold. She breathed normally and she was alone in the room. Her older brother, who had come down with her in the ambulance, was now pacing the hallway as he called his mother on the phone. His father was on his way and his mother was being spoken to about it. Michael didn't get many words out before his mother had hung up and bolted for the car keys by the door.

Michael entered the room his sister was in and quietly stood next to her. He took her cold hand in his, rubbing the top of her hand as he glanced at her. He had seen what happened and he was furious. She was a phenomenal player, she dedicated everything she had to hockey. He used to watch her went she was learning to play hockey. He'd watch her shoot at thee garage door in the dark, he'd watch her pack her bags and leave for the frozen pond or to the basketball courts.

Now, he wasn't too sure about what was going to happen. "Come on, LJ, stop playing and wake up." He told her.

She did not move. A tear slipped.

He was nineteen years old and hadn't seen her in the last year. She was in the tenth grade, she was sixteen years old. He had started his first year of college. Michael and Leia hadn't really seen each other often. He came to the house on Fridays and the weekends, sometimes during the week after school. He went to all of her games, whether they were at her school or away.

They always did have a good brother/sister connection. They were closer to each other than any one else they knew, but within the last year, they had drifted apart because Michael was off at college and she was at Eden Hall. It wasn't every night that Leia went home to sleep and it wasn't every night that Michael did either, they each had their own dorm at their school.

A nurse stepped into the room, stepping aside as Mr. Fox walked into the room. Mrs. Fox was on her way still, trying to get through the slow traffic as it was home time for all the adults. It was Thursday afternoon, sports were finishing and kids were getting homework done, some parents were cooking meals, other were getting home, but the Fox parents were all heading to the hospital where their daughter was.

"How is she?" He asked, approaching the bedside where he brought his son into a hug. They patted each other's shoulders and Michael brought a hand to his face, wiping his single tear away. "Will she be all right? Is she asleep?" He continued.

"No, sir. She's unconscious and from what we know, there are no external injuries. Medics said she took a hard hit on the ice today." The nurse answered. "If there were a way we could get a tape of the game, we could possibly look it over and determine if there's any head trauma."

"Head trauma!?" He shouted in the room. Michael stepped back, crossing his arms over his chest as he listened. No one had told him anything about a possible head injury.

"Yes, sir. Trauma to the head. It's a possible factor as she has not yet gained-" A movement from Leia's hand caught everyone's attention. Slowly, she was coming back, but she wasn't fully aware of her surroundings. "Consciousness." She finished quietly, furrowing her eye brows as she looked down at her.

Arriving at the hospital, Mrs. Fox jogged around the halls, looking at every bay as she tried to find her daughter. Passing by the room, Michael noticed and walked over to the door. He stepped outside the room and waved. "Mom!" He called. She turned swiftly. "Oh, Michael!" She gasped, returning to the room. "Is she all right?"

"She'll be fine from what we know. Nurse is explaining that she could have a possible head injury."

Her eyes widened and he brought an arm around her shoulders, bringing her inside the room. She broke down into tears, extending her hand to take her daughter's hand.

In a semi-conscious state, Leia felt someone touch her right hand.
