The streets of LA were packed with people. When weren't they? The three girls, and only girls on the USA team, walked together in a line down the street. Each of them trying to figure out which store then wanted to visit next. There were too many choose and they had to go to all of them. They had the afternoon to do what ever they wanted, but needed to be back by seven for a practice until nine. A good evening practice to tire everyone out.
Connie gasped and stopped, finding a nice store filled with clothes. There were many different stores on the streets of LA that were clothing stores, but each store had something different. Some had shoes, some had shirts of different types; like crop tops that were long or short sleeve, some long sleeves, some short sleeves, some turtle neck shirts as well. It was a variety. Other stores were filled with jackets of different sorts like snow jackets, rain jackets, spring jackets, wind jackets, leather jackets, faux-fur jackets or jean jackets.
Together, they entered the store and Leia went off to look around. Julie stopped near the front of the store, looking at the shirts and Connie wandered around. Leia had found a long sleeved crop top, it wasn't loose and fitted to her body. There were two styles, one had a low v neckline cut and the second covered the entire chest area, having a cut just below the neck. She looked at the few that had the high neck cut line and then was in awe with the colours. She didn't know what colour suited her better. The light blue or the navy blue. She was definitely attracted to the navy blue, but wondered what the light blue would look like.
She picked one of each off the rack and held them across her arm, continuing to search for something else. She found a shelves full of jean shorts of different colours and styles. She picked up a light blue jean pair of shorts. She unfolded them and the style was a rockabilly type with three buttons on either side of the jeans near the pockets. Except, the shorts were jeans and not khakis like material. She grabbed a black pair, a white pair, and a light blue pair, then headed to the change rooms.
Leia's jaw dropped when she looked at Connie's outfit. "Wow, that's beautiful on you, Con." She nodded, stepping to the side to see a side view of Connie's outfit. She was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans with a cropped light purple shirt with vertical white stripes. "It really suits your body."
"It does, but I don't really wear clothes like this." She pondered on the look. "Anyways, what did you find?" She perked up, jumping over to Leia in excitement.
"I've got a cropped long sleeve and jean shorts. I don't know what colours would look good with what, so I got a variety."
Julie approached with a pair of track pants and the matching hoodie. She also had a nice summer dress. "I think the navy blue should go with the white and the light blue with the black." Julie added her input.
"I'll try that." Leia nods. "Can you hold these?" She asked, taking her glasses off. Julie nodded, taking them and put them on her head. Leia parted, going into a change room and then pulled the curtain across to shut it. She brought the shirts with hangers to the hooks and then set the shorts on the bench. She took her shoes off and set them to the side, then pulled her shorts and shirt off, throwing the navy blue long sleeved cropped top on with the white high waist rockabilly like shorts. She dud the button in the front and looked at herself in the mirror.
She stepped out, pulling the curtain aside and walked out. "Wow, that's an LA girl. You just need a fanny pack and heels." Julie nods.
"Or just heels. And where's the bling?" Connie asked.
Julie pointed to Leia's stomach ring and then to her ears. Meanwhile, Leia pulled out the heart shaped locket from under shirt, setting it on top of her shirt. She loved the locket, but found that it didn't go well when it stuck out from that shirt. She didn't mind the other shirts she had, but for some reason it didn't go with that particular shirt. "I don't know about the necklace." Leia pondered.
"Here, try these." Julie stood up, passing Leia her glasses. She brought them to her face and looked at herself in the mirror. The outfit sure was different and she adored it, but she didn't know if the glasses topped it off or made it worst.
"God, I look ugly with my glasses on." She muttered, shaking her head.
"Oh come on, Leia." Connie stood up, grasping her wrist and pulled her back to the mirror. "You're beautiful."
"You're just saying that."
"Am I? What about Adam?"
Leia shrugged, looking down at her socked feet. "I'm not bad looking, but I'm not pretty like your or Julie. God no."
Julie laughed. "If you're not buying it for yourself, I'll buy it for you." Julie spoke up.
"I'll get it, but if everyone else hates it, I'm blaming both of you." Leia replied, turning and passing Julie her glasses. She walked back into the change room and changed into her clothes. She did not try on the second pair of shorts and the shirt as she had seen the first one.
Leia pulled the strap of her purse over her shoulder and lifted up the purse itself, getting her wallet out. She was fairly wealthy and her parents had given more than enough money for the time she was in LA for the Games. She paid for her clothes and the woman gave her a fancy bag that had a glossy finish. Julie walked over, giving Leia her glasses back.
She pulled them on and when Connie finished, the girls grabbed the rest of their bags, leaving the store. They shopped for the rest of the day and had gotten a little tan, but not burnt. Leia had a great day and she was still pondering about the purchase she'd made, but in the long run if her two female best friends loved it, then that meant she had to look good.
The rest of the afternoon was beautiful and the girls ended up being a little late for practice.
