"Astriiiiid, come on down, breakfast is ready" Helga - Astrid's mom - called. It was late in the morning and Astrid usually never slept that long.

Astrid woke up by her mom's call. She felt so sick, her head was pounding like crazy, her eyes were irritated and hurt in response to the light shining through her window, her hands were shaking and she felt like she was constantly falling.

Her mom came in the door. "Astrid, please answer m-" she said but quickly gasped as she saw her daughter lying there, very pale, not looking great.

"Mah dear, ya look very sick... are ye okay?" Helga asked and sat down at the edge of the bed, putting a hand on Astrid white forehead.

"Mom, I feel so dizzy and my brain hurts very much" Astrid sobbed. Her mother just raised an eyebrow.

"Ye better stay in bed today then" Helga stated and stood up. "Ah'll bring ya the breakfast, just get some rest" she calmed.

Astrid didn't want to spend her whole day laying in bed when she should be together with her friends and especially together with Hiccup.

She missed him already. Last time she saw him was yesterday morning when he came by to tell Astrid that he and Toothless would take a long flight around the archipelago to scout out for new islands. Of course, Astrid more than wanted to fly with them, but she had to do her daily duties, so she couldn't...

...And now she was here, having a massive headache and feeling sick. She didn't even know when Hiccup came back. It was so annoying, why did it just have to be on the day she could spend with her beloved boyfriend.

Astrid's sad thoughts got cut off by Helga who came in through the door again, this time carrying a large tray with some food and a mug. Helga placed the tray at the free space beside Astrid's feet.

Astrid could see the water vapors coming from the mug. It must be something warm, like tea.

"Drink some of this, it will make ye feel better," Helga said and handed her the mug.

Astrid took a look at the very dark-green liquid. It didn't look so appetizing, but if it helped, she would drink it. She was so tired of all the pain.

Astrid took a sip...

"It is actually not that ba-" she started but then the spice mixture began to kick in, causing her to cough like she was dying.

"WHAT *Huh* is *Huh* that...?" Astrid asked. This was not helping at all. It just made her throat burn.

"It's from Gothi, she told me that it will help ya relax," Helga said calmly and handed Astrid a piece of bread.

"But, Mom, I don't wanna relax, I have a lot to do today!" Asked said sadly. She hated to be sick, HATED.

"Like ah said, Ye better stay in bed today, ye are not going anywhere... sorry," Helga said and put a hand on Astrid's shoulder. She knew how Astrid felt about being sick, she was just like her mother...

"Knock"... "Knock"... "Knock"... Someone knocked on their front door.

"I'll be right back, mah dear," Helga said and went out the room to see who was knocking.

To her big surprise Hiccup was there, having a concerned look in his eyes.

"Good morning, Mrs. Hofferson, I can't find Astrid anywhere, do you know where she is?" He nervously asked, twiddling his thumbs.

Helga smiled worriedly. "She is not feeling very great today, she has a bad headache," she said sadly.

"Mom, if it's Hiccup, let him in, please" a voice shouted from Astrid's room.

Helga smiled once again. "Well, ye heard her, lad,"  she said and went inside. Hiccup followed - still having a concerned look in his eyes.

Helga pointed at the stairs and then went into the living room. Hiccup carefully went up. He didn't like when Astrid was feeling pain.

He came into her room, seeing her lying on her bed, pale skinned with dark spots under her eyes. She was not feeling well.

Hiccup went over to the side of her bed and sat down. He put a hand her forehead, feeling the warm pale skin against his palm. She was clearly not feeling well.

"Hey, can I get you something?" He gently whispered.

Astrid didn't answer, she just shook her head. "I don't know how to reduce this pain," she said quietly as she lifted her arm and stroked her hand through his locks.

"Have you tried something cold yet?" Hiccup suggested and put his hand under her chin.

"Do you think that will work?" she said, this time having a little more happiness in her voice.

"I'll go get you some ice, I will be right back," Hiccup said and ran out her door and down the stairs in a hurry. Astrid just sighed and buried her head in the pillow.

...

A few minutes went and finally, Hiccup came back, carrying a cloth bag with ice cubes and two big pillows. He put down the pillows and held the cloth bag over Astrid's forehead.

"It might be a little chilly in the start," he said and put it down on top of Astrid's forehead. Astrid chuckled as the ice-cold bag touched her pale skin.

Hiccup took the pillows and stacked them up under Astrid's feet, making her legs rest in a diagonal position.

"This will help your blood flow," he said and sat down beside her, admiring her smile from feeling better. He really loved seeing Astrid happy.

"Wow, this really works," Astrid said with a wide smile on her face and a gleam of hope in her eyes. "How did you know that?" she asked.

"You know, my mom told me some... tips" Hiccup laughed and stroke his hand on her cheek, making Astrid blush.

"I honestly don't know what I should do without you," Astrid said and yet again, stroke her hand through his auburn locks, this time making Hiccup blush.

He slowly leaned in for the kiss, but was cut off by Helga, shouting; "Are you guys hungry?"

"No Mom, we are fine" Astrid shouted with a laugher. She then took a grip around Hiccup's neck and pulled him in for the kiss.

Hiccup kissed back. "I love you, M'lady, I will always be there for you, love you!"
