Hiccstrid Oneshots - [A Hiccstrid Collection]

The Anaesthesia

Happens in the time between Dragons: Race To The Edge (RTTE) and HTTYD2

Word count: 800+

Summary: Hiccup, Astrid and the Gang were out flying a normal flight when suddenly something hits Hiccup as he and Toothless fly lower to the ground. Hiccup didn't expect to be hit and consequently, he falls off Toothless. Toothless wasn't able to catch Hiccup in time and therefore Hiccup lands right on top of a Spike-root. Unfortunately, the deadly plant wounds Hiccup were badly...

"HICCUP! Please stay with me, please stay, we are gonna get you back to Berk, NOW!" Astrid cried as she helped Hiccup get off the Spike-root. She and Stormfly had landed down safely beside the deadly plant as soon as they saw the unexpected fall.

Hiccup unluckily landed right on top of the plant's thick spiky branches. One of the spikes had gotten halfway through his leg - the one with his prosthetic foot.

A Spike-root is not a poisonous plant, it is just very dangerous because of its spike branches.

Hiccup was hurt, very hurt, he couldn't walk or talk. His face was all pale from the pain.

"Fishlegs you take Toothless back to Berk, I'll take care of Hiccup" Astrid ordered and pointed at Toothless who had crashed down a little further away from the deadly plant. Fishlegs nodded and jumped off Meatlug.

Astrid was hurrying to cover Hiccup's visible wounds with some bandages from her bag. She slowly helped Hiccup mount Stormfly, he moaned in pain, he was so hurt that his eyes began to fade.

He got on the back of Stormfly, laying on his stomach and having his arms and legs hanging down on each side. This was going to be a painful ride.

Without hesitation, they took off. They had no moment to waste, it was just a matter of time until Hiccup would pass out.

Luckily for them, they weren't that far away from Berk...

They soon landed safely on Berk. Snotlout and the twins had flown ahead and told the village - especially Gothi and Stoick about the bad news.

Everyone was gathered up as Astrid jumped off Stormfly, tears running in streams from her eyes. She was so concerned about her boyfriend.

Stoick quickly took Hiccup in his arms and carried him up to Gothi. Hiccup still moaned as the pain kept getting worse.

...

"May I see him?" Astrid asked sniffling and rubbed away a tear. She didn't want to wait any longer.

Gothi had been working on him for hours upon hours and Astrid - for her own safety - wasn't allowed to spectate. She was so afraid of losing her beloved boyfriend.

Stoick nodded with a smile as he came out the door. "He is... eh... he is very dizzy at the moment... Gothi gave him a strong dose of anaesthesia to calm him down... maybe you will help him get home safely?" He said and moved out of the doorway.

Astrid quickly went in, she wanted to see Hiccup, feel him.

As she came in the hut he was laying on the examination couch, gazing at the ceiling. He looked rather well now, he was smiling - so that must be a good sign.

Astrid sat by the edge of the couch, running her fingers through his locks. He looked at her and smiled once again.

"How are you feeling, babe?" Astrid whispered, she could clearly see that he was affected by the big dose of anaesthesia.

Hiccup just widened his eyes and giggled, showing his white teeth. He sat up and tried to maneuver one of his hands over to Astrid.

Astrid smiled at took his hand. "Let's get back home," she said and helped him stand up. She pulled his arm behind her neck and held him around his waist.

They slowly began to make their way out of Gothi's hut.

As they finally came to Hiccup's house, they went inside, up the stairs and Astrid carefully helped Hiccup get into his bed.

Astrid sat at the edge and put a hand on his stomach, feeling him breathing slowly. He was still very affected by the anaesthesia, it wouldn't probably even be gone tomorrow.

Astrid sighed and put her hand on his forehead. He felt so warm, so relaxed and calm.

Hiccup opened his eyes and gazed at Astrid.

"Do-o-o, you-o-u wanna hear a secret-t-t?" He giggled and reached an arm out for Astrid's hair.

"Yes," Astrid nodded. What was he going to tell her?

"I-I have dreams about you-o-u" he giggled and smiled.

Astrid's face became all scarlet red from blushing. "I also have dreams about you, my little dork" she whispered.

"Do you know why?" He asked, this time gazing at her seriously.

Astrid looked a little confused at him. How could she answer that?

A moment of silence...

"Because I love you" he whispered and took a grip at her neck and pulled her down to give her a kiss.

Astrid was so relieved. She kissed back.

I love him too...
