Chapter 10

Homecoming Part I

Chug! Chug! Chug!

A group of guys cheer as their buddy is drinking beer from a funnel. Oh homecoming, where people love to get drunk early in the morning and crowd the street while doing stupid drunk things. It honestly was crazy. The street was completely filled with people. Some were even chilling in trees while others played beer pong on their front lawn. Since I came to this school, I have come every year to homecoming but it still amazes me on how many people actually show up.

"Denise, Ethan just texted me that he is near the house with the large stuffed eagle on the lawn. Let's head down there." Angelica says tugging on my tank top.

"Okay sounds good to me." I say. I didn't drink much this morning. This will be the official second outing that I have with Leo and I didn't want to puke all over him. It definitely would not be a cute look. Only me and Angelica could make it today as Venus and Cara said they had work to do however they did say that they would meet us at the club tonight.

"Wow this is crazy." Leo says looking out at the street. He was very tall compared to me so it would make sense that he had a better idea of what exactly is happening ahead of us. "Look the cops are starting to come down the street."

"Shit! Well we better be on our best behaviour." I saying turning back just a little to smile up at him. Unfortunately, when you are looking up you tend not to look down. Suddenly, I feel something under my foot and find myself falling forwards. But at the same, I feel strong steady hands grab me by my waist to ensure that I stay upright. The touch of Leo 's strong hands makes me want to melt.

"Well I know I will be on my best behaviour but you on the other hand are having a hard time walking properly." he says with that beautiful smile on his face. Yup, I think I am going to fall down again just so that I can feel him around me once more.

"Shut up!" I say punching him in the stomach hoping to get a feel for his abs without directly touching them. He responds with a laugh. We continue to follow Angelica as she guides as through the crowds that continue to fill the streets. Finally, we see Ethan and Justin right beside the eagle.

"Justin is here, the guy I told you about." I point to show Leo . It's not hard to miss him with his strawberry coloured red hair.

"Oh, the guy that helped you when you were too busy daydreaming about me." he says winking at me.

"You wish I was dreaming about you." I say in response hoping that will make him quiet. We reach Ethan and Justin and Angelica gives Ethan a hug while whispering something to him.

"Hey Justin!" I say hoping he will give some sort of response. It was starting to feel kind of awkward as Justin seemed to be the third wheel or the fourth wheel however you want to look at it.

"Hey, I didn't think I was going to see you here." he says smiling. Okay good this might not be too awkward but then I remember that Justin has not met Leo yet. I would most likely have to introduce him. But what would I say. Is he my boyfriend? We never made it official and if I introduced him as a friend, Leo might think that I only see him that way and nothing more. This was bad. I can't keep standing here staring at Justin's face hoping for a solution. I begin to open my mouth when...

"Hey, my name is Leo , nice to meet you." he says while reaching out a hand towards Justin. I let out a breath. That was probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Justin shakes Leo's hand in return and introduces himself.

"Denise, remember when the professor was talking about weed basically assuming that we all smoke it." Justin says and I smile recalling the memory. Professors literally think they can say whatever they want. I don't blame them, I mean we pay them to talk.
