Chapter 17

DING DONG! I run to the door and the pizza delivery guy is holding up two medium pizzas asking me to confirm my information. I gladly answer and pay. The girls and I decided to have a game night as a way to celebrate almost being done the semester. We figured that actually meeting at the end of the semester would prove to be difficult as there is always a immense amount of work that seems to pile up right before exams. I close the door and walk back towards the girls, thankful that I am out of the cold.

"Darn, I was hoping that was going to be Leo." Venus smiles as she continues to set up the living room coffee table.

"Really, because I was actually curious to see who you invited?" I say genuinely curious about who she invited.

"What do you mean? We all know that I do not have a person right now but, I did invite my friend Natasha," Venus clarifies. "What is really going to be interesting is seeing Leo and Justin together again after that awkward incident in the club at homecoming." Venus's big brown eyes are wide open and looking right at me.

"Will you stop! It's not going to be weird. Justin is my friend and Leo is my boyfriend, those are two very different things."

"Is it really that different though..." Venus says and laughs all the way to her room to finish getting ready. I roll my eyes even though she isn't in the room to see it. I think back to homecoming and what allegedly took place. I don't think Justin likes me that way. I mean he knows I have a boyfriend and I have never made any advances. Also, he is best friends with Ethan and I would assume that him coming really has nothing to do with me but more to do with spending time with Ethan.

Almost as if Angelica can read my thoughts, she says, "Venus is being dramatic, nothing will happen tonight. Ethan was the one who invited Justin to begin with, it has nothing to do with you." I nod my head because I needed to hear that for my own sanity.

Cara looks away from the computer and stares directly at us "Angelica, tell us how you really feel? Because when you made that statement you didn't seem too excited about the idea of Justin coming." Now we both stare at Angelica, waiting to hear what she has to say.

She laughs "Okay you got me, I am not too excited that Justin is coming. I just don't really ... like him. I don't know why... I mean, I know why, he is just always around. Ethan spends so much time with him, like a lot of time with him and I have yet to speak more than ten words to Justin. Also, he blow off a date that we had set up because he had to study and guess who he was studying with."

"Justin." We all say his name in unison, even Venus comes out of her room just in time to join in on saying his name.

Angelica begins to bite on her lip, I can tell she is already feeling guilty about speaking ill of Justin. She normally doesn't talk bad about others. "Now having a chance to reflect on what I just said, my anger is more so directed at Ethan because in reality it is Ethan who is making the decisions not Justin. He just happens to be around." She says going back to looking through her phone. Whoah, this is new. All of this is very new. We all just kind of look at each other unsure of what to say or do. I can see that Venus is about to open her mouth and say something that I am sure will be anti-Ethan. But before she is able to, there is a knock at the door and ding coming from Angelica's phone. She runs to open the door and on the other side of the door is Ethan and Justin and we all continue to stare and look in silence almost as if we are hypnotized. Until one of us breaks out of the spell.

Cara gets up from the table "Hey guys, haven't seen you guys in a while. How are things going?"

Ethan is the first to respond, "Things have been very busy. I have a lot of things going on with school as per usual. Venus knows what i'm talking about." he looks to Venus and gives her a nod of acknowledgement. Justin moves forward and takes a seat beside me on the dining room table.
