Tatyana and Kyoko were laying down in Tatyana's room, arms wrapped around around each other and Tatyana's face snuggled into Kyoko's neck. Occasionally, the green eyed girl would plant a soft kiss on her girlfriends neck.
It was a perfect bliss and was a refuge from their fucked up reality.
A part of their lives free from the murders they had both committed. Free from the childhood trauma and the future that they were destined for. Free from the judging eyes of leaders and the strict rule of Ezra. Free from the other girls jealousy. Free from night terrors that tortured Tatyana.
Just the two of them, chaste kisses, heavy make outs and sweet and loving sex.
It was their little place of solitude to be who they truly were together. The one part of their lives that was consistent. They both knew how the other worked. Kyoko knew that Tatyana had a sensitive neck and moaned loudly when it was kissed. Tatyana knew that Kyoko enjoyed that Tatyana was smaller than her. Tatyana knew that Kyoko liked to pick her up when her guard was down to see the shorter girl blush. Kyoko knew that Tatyana loved being called pretty and being praised for things that didn't involve her training. Anything there was to know about each other, they knew. Their relationship was the only stable thing in their lives and for that they spent any free time they had with each other. They would spend their breaks sitting close together in the library. Their lunch kissing in the bathrooms. Most nights, Kyoko slept in Tatyana's room most nights and they would explore each other's bodies. Tatyana would run her hands across each rigid muscle and sharp angle of her girlfriends body. Kyoko's tongue would lick the scars that covered Tatyana's body. The one on her back, the ones that ran along the back of her neck, even the straight scars on her arms and thighs that Tatyana spoke about once and then refused to acknowledge them again.
It was a dangerous game. Not looking at each other in class so the leaders would not notice. Kyoko had to hide from leaders and avoid making noise when running to Tatyana's room.
They made every effort to avoid being caught. Kyoko avoiding leaving hickeys where they couldn't be covered and avoided being rough if they had lessons the next day. Tatyana tried to avoid running into Ezra, knowing he could read anyone like an open book. The hiding, running, skirting around each other and having to calculate every move in order to preserve their secret was exhausting but it was worth it.
But still, Tatyana found herself envying the people outside of Khela who got to be open with their relationships. She wanted to be able to kiss Kyoko whenever she felt like, or hold her hands as they moved in between classes. Not that it mattered, Tatyana thought bitterly. It's viewed as wrong in Russia for two girls to be together anyway.
Tatyana has dreams where her and Kyoko ran away together and went to live in countries like America or England where they could be together freely. But she knew that was just a fantasy. She could never leave Khela and it this point she wouldn't want to.
She grew up at base and the closest thing she had to family were all there.
So hiding their relationship was worth it.
