Too many secrets

Chapter 2

The next morning was the day you'd be assigned into teams with the leader being a jonin. You were really excited, you finally got to go on real missions and help people.

Before you made your way to the academy you paid a visit to Narutos' apartment. You tried knocking but there was no answer. After you tried opening the door you realized it was locked. Maybe he was out keeping busy? You decided you'd come back later tonight.

You realized you were going to be late so you rushed to the academy as quick as you could. When you got there you had five minutes to spare. What surprised you was how out of breathe you were considering you were quite fit.

After catching your breathe you casually walked into the classroom. To your pleasant surprise you saw Naruto with a headband! He passed? Before you could congratulate him he attacked you with a hug. You were not that much taller than he was despite being 20 years old so you fell to the ground. You were too excited to acknowledge the pain and slight dizziness... "I am so happy for you Naruto! But how...?" You asked as politely as possible.

He continued to tell you the story of how he stole a forbidden scroll and learned the shadow clone jutsu. Also how he put his life in danger. Your smile quickly turned into a frown as you gave him a whack on his head. "Naruto are you crazy! What if something happened to you?" You were really happy for him but at the same time you were angry at him for being reckless.

"Everyone take your seats!" Iruka sensei came in before you could finish scolding at Naruto. Soon after everyone got settled Iruka split us into our teams.

After grouping the first 6 teams he got to your team. "(Y/N), Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto." You instantly got a headache at the thought of being in the same team as both Sasuke and Naruto.

It was probably two hours since the last team left with their senseis while team 7 awaited oh so impatiently. "Where is he! I can't wait any longer!" Naruto yelled out which caused Sauke to insult him, then eventually Sakura jumped in on the argument as well. You wondered how long you'd survive in this team.

You nearly lost your balance when the room began spinning. You quickly leaned on the black board until the dizziness subsided. "(Y/N), are you alright?" Sakura asked. Before you could lie and assure her that you were your sensei arrived.

"What took you so long!" Naruto shouted angrily. You turned your attention the Jonin and realized it was your stalker.

"Why hello there, I believe we have met before." He started walking towards you. Then the room started spinning again. Everything went black...

"(Y/N)! Wake up!" You woke up to Naruto shaking you violently. You looked around and noticed you were in a hospital room?

"Naruto stop! She's already weak as it is." The grey haired Jonin pulled him away from you. Naruto however squeezed you as tight as he could. "You scared me (Y/N)." He said softly as he buried his head into your chest. You hugged him as tight as you could.

"I'm sorry I gave you such a fright Naruto, I promise it won't happen again." He smiled at you before wiping away some stray tears.

"What happened?" You turned your attention to the Jonin.

"Well, the doctor said your blood sugar was really low." You then realized you actually hadn't really eaten for three days. "As a ninja you have to have a healthy diet, starving yourself won't help you become a better ninja." You rolled your eyes at this guy who was practically the same age as you giving you a lecture.

"Kakashi sensei is right (Y/N)! You need to eat lots of ramen to stay healthy and strong." You giggled at Narutos silliness.

"That is not what I said Naruto..." Kakashi looked at Naruto wearily, probably realizing that he would have his work cut out with this one.

"Make sure you get some rest (Y/N), Lord third already has a mission for us bright and early tomorrow morning at 5 am. I'll give you more details then. Meet us at the village gate." Kakashi said before leaving you alone with Naruto.

You tried figuring this guy out. But honestly you had no idea what to make of him. Naruto didn't give you a lot of time to make up your mind though. He stayed with you for most of the afternoon, telling you how he would be the next hokage and so on. You didn't mind though. You loved hearing him talk about his dreams. He always seemed to light up when he did.

Later that night you were released from the hospital. You ate a small bowl of ramen, you didn't want to be fainting during this mission. It was very difficult, ever since the incident happened you fell into a depression. You of course hid it perfectly from everyone. Besides... who could you possibly tell?

After you took your shower you went to bed. You fell asleep instantly and you were so relieved you didn't have any nightmares tonight.

You checked your clock the minute you woke up the next morning. You were really proud of yourself for waking up early for once. You quickly brushed your teeth and had some breakfast before making your way to the front gate.

It was 4:30 am when you arrived at the front gate. It wasn't too long before Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto arrived. The only person who hadn't arrived was your sensei. He was now nearly an hour late. Was this seriously going to become a habit? You thought to yourself very irritated at his tardiness.

"Sorry I'm late everyone. A black cat crossed my path." You looked at him dumbfolded, was he seriously expecting us to fall for that? "Happy to see you doing better (Y/N). Did you have a healthy breakfast this morning?" He asked sincerely.

"Yes sensei." You smiled. Well he didn't seem all too bad, but he still wasn't in the clear yet.

"We will be going to a kingdom not too far from here, a three day journey at the most. We have to escort a nobleman from the kingdom to the hidden sand village and back." You felt a knot in your stomach, you were almost too afraid to ask for the name of the kingdom.

"Sensei? what's the name of this kingdom?" You asked, clearly terrified.

"Goruden." Your heart skipped a beat at that reply and your eyes widened in anxiousness. Why there... out of all the places on earth why there!
