Too many secrets

Chapter 8

The next two days were boring beyond words. You were so happy when you were finally able to leave. After Team 7 escorted Lord Rike back to the kingdom you were on your way back to the hidden leaf.

You walked next to Kakashi with the others trailing not too far behind. You noticed a death glare from Sasuke. That boy sure has a lot of anger issues for a 13 year old you thought. You must have been too busy focusing on Sasuke and his issues because you tripped over a small rock in your path.

Kakashi quickly stepped in front of you making you fall onto him. "(Y/N), a ninja must always be alert." He helped you straighten up. "What happened?"

You looked at Sasuke and for some reason you felt guilty. You took a step back from Kakashi.

"I was just... lost in thought I guess." He didn't say anything further.

When you arrived back at the leaf village you felt all the stress of the mission leave. You all made your way to the Hokages office to inform him that your mission was a success.

"How was your first mission?" he asked the four of you.

"It was really boring old man, next time give us a mission where we get to fight." Naruto exclaimed.

"But we did get into a fight." You said.

"Yeah but that didn't count."

Lord Hokage smiled. "I'll be sure to assign you a more challenging mission next time."

You were on your way back to your apartment when Kakashi called out to you. You turned in his direction. "How are you feeling? You must be really stressed after this mission." He said standing awfully close to you. You felt yourself turning red.

"uhm... yeah it has been really stressful. But it was definitely needed for some healing I think." You smiled.

"I'm glad you're feeling better." You were about to leave when he spoke again. "Have dinner with me tonight." Your heart was speeding like a damn bullet, your eyes wide with shock. You were definitely not expecting that. Should you accept? Well you do like his company and he seems to be a nice guy. Wait were you falling for him? No it couldn't be but then why were you so damn nervous. No come on (Y/N) pull yourself together. He's your sensei! "(Y/N) are you okay? You're turning really red." He looked at you concerned. But then all of a sudden his expression changed. "Wait are you blushing? Why? Oh wait I know why." Even with his mask on you could tell he was smirking.

"Yo..You do...?" you asked nervously.

"Yeah, you remembered I was naked underneath my clothes didn't you." Now you were embarrassed for two reasons. Damn Kakashi why! You thought.

"I'll pick you up around 8 tonight." Before you could even reply he left. Wait did you say yes? Oh crap you are having dinner with Kakashi...

Okay okay get a grip it's just a little get together. Not like it's a date or anything. What if it is? What if he thinks this is a date? You immediately pushed that thought out of your mind. He would never like someone like you, not with what happened to you. You were nothing but a dirty used broken woman. All of a sudden you weren't as nervous knowing he would never like you, instead you felt hurt...

That night you were rummaging through your closet. You had no idea what to wear. Was he taking you to a fancy place or something casual? You didn't want to be under dressed or overdressed. You looked at your nightstand clock 7:59! Crap... Maybe he would be late, giving you another hour to get ready. He is always late.

Just then you heard your doorbell ring. Please don't be Kakashi please don't be Kakashi. You opened the door wearing a jean and baggy grey shirt to see Kakashi. "Hey Kakashi." You said sheepishly. You noticed he had two grocery bags. "What are those for?"
