Rosemary

Rosemary looked around the packed coffee house. Her eyes lit up, as the chair across from her moved. "I'm a little lost without Cece, if I'm honest. It's strange to hold an empty phone. Hope their date is going good." Rosemary glanced at Cece's blank screen.

Jim sat down. Tie a tad skewed, and hair a little messy. His distracting dimple made an appearance as he smiled at Rosemary. He carefully put down two coffee cups, and slid one over to her. "Yes, I can relate. We humans just aren't equipped to go without our phones for too long."

Rosemary drummed her fingers on the side of her cup. She nodded appreciatively as she sniffed her coffee. "Well, I guess it's nice to have a few human moments without 'big sister' watching."

Jim laughed as he ran his hand through his hair. "It can be a little oppressive sometimes. Hopefully Cece doesn't get too upset at DEx. He wanted to be the one to give her the bad news."

Rosemary leaned forward, eyebrows furrowed. "Oh...what bad news?"

Jim looked around and carefully moved his chair closer to Rosemary's. He put his arm around the back of Rosemary's chair, and nodded as a person passed by. He spoke quietly near the top of her head. "We just got word that Archie escaped through a back door he had hidden. Thankfully DEx was able to push through the updates to limit Archie's capabilities before this happened."

Lightning flashed outside the window. A clap of thunder boomed then settled. Slight drops of rain fell from the sky.

Rosemary shivered. Wide brown eyes locked with concerned blue eyes. "So, he's out there? Cece is going to be pissed."

The table buzzed around the two phones.

"Darn right I'm pissed. That idiot is like a roach. A Houdini roach. He escapes everything." Cece flashed the words across her screen.

"Cece... sweet byte, it will be fine. I'm sure we will get him soon. Don't ignore me please." DEx's words flashed across his screen.

Jim arched an eyebrow as he shook his head. He turned to look down at Rosemary. "Want to take this to go? We could watch something, and toss these two into a drawer or something to settle their issues?"

Rosemary laughed as she nodded. "Sounds like a wonderful plan. Let's grab some Chinese on the way." Rosemary got up and pocketed Cece. Jim grabbed DEx, and helped Rosemary into her coat.

The two humans huddled together under an umbrella as they walked out of the hipster coffee house. The Helpers continued to aggressively pinged back and forth messages, from their respective pockets.

The light from the sun filtered through the pouring rain, creating a glimmer on the world around the group.

Coffee in hand, arguing phone like entities, and a crazed being on the lose bent on global domination. The world as Rosemary knew it wasn't going to ever be boring again.

But who wants dull and mundane, when you can have amusing and intriguing?
