*Natalie's POV
"Did you hear about that boy's case?" I wiped the sweat off my forehead.
"No," I exhaled as I looked at Derek.
"Isn't he your friend?" I grabbed the wrench from the tool box.
"Yeah something like that," I breathed out and went to loosen the bolt so that we would be able to replace the part.
"Well I heard that they're going to wait till after Labor Day to deliver the verdict." I looked up from the engine and at him.
"And how do you know that?"
"Riverdale is a small town." He shrugged. "Besides, it's good to still be in the loop with things back home."
I nodded my head and looked back at the engine.
"Why don't you go back?" He leaned against the truck.
"I have things to do here." I shrugged.
"Nat, the serpents here are perfectly fine." He crossed his arms. "You have been here for almost three months now making sure we have everything we needed."
"Well I could stay longer." I added.
"Natalie," he sighed. "Maybe it's time you go back home." He suggested.
I remained silent.
"If it makes you feel any better we all thought you were next in line."
"That doesn't help at all Derek." I laughed.
"Yeah I don't think so either." He laughed shaking his head. "But maybe you should go back and see how things are."
"Yeah..." I trailed off. "I guess your right."
"And maybe you can fix things with that boy toy of yours." I let out a groan. "Or maybe not." He laughed.
"Let's just finish the truck so I can take it with me since you want me to leave so damn bad." I rolled my eyes at him.
He only laughed and took the tool from my hand.

"Alright, well you're all good to go." CJ announced as he closed the bed of the truck.
I had spent most of my summer making sure that the serpents who ended up leaving Riverdale were taken care of. I was only supposed to check up on them but I ended up staying for a while.
"Thanks," I looked at the serpents around me. "For helping me load in the bike." I gestured.
"No, thank you for coming to check up on us." CJ spoke up.
"Yeah well," I shoved my hands in my pocket and got out my keys. "If you need anything I'm just a call and a few hours away. Or I coul-"
"Nat." Derek pressed.
"Well I guess someone is eager to have me leave." I joked. The serpents around me erupted in laughter. I made my way over to the driver's side of the truck. I hopped in and started the engine.
"Just give it sometime," Derek leaned on the door. "And if you don't like it back in Riverdale you're welcome to come back. Your trailer isn't going anywhere." I smiled at the older serpent I have been working with for a while. "Just try and fix things over there and if not we always need a person to lead here." He glanced back at the serpents.
"I'll keep that in mind." I nodded. He stepped back as I changed gears. I made a small u-turn and waved out to the serpents as I drove out of the trailer park.
"So you're just leaving?" I ignored him.
"Just like that." He exclaimed.
"What do you want me to do?" I yelled. "I just need to get the hell out of here before I fucking lose my shit." I threw my clothes into my duffel bag. "I can't fucking stay here." I pushed down the bag as I tried to zip it up.
He stayed quiet.
"Fuck." I yelled trying to zip up the bag.
He walked over to me and pulled the duffel bag ends together.
"Zip it up." He instructed as he held the sides closely together not pushing the subject any further.

"Natalie?" I heard the low murmurs as I slammed the truck door shut.
"Where are they?" They pointed me in the direction already knowing who I was referring to.
"Feels pretty savage, Jug."
Is that Archie?
"Archie, the first thing I learned at Southside High was that you need to roll with a crew to survive." I pushed the sheets on the clothing line away and there they were.
"There are gonna be Serpents in juvenile detention." I spoke up. "Find them. Sit with them." FP and Archie turned around.
"Natalie," Jughead exclaimed while sitting in the chair.
"That tattoo is gonna get you in." I pointed at the fresh ink he had on his arm. "But it's also gonna get you protected." Archie nodded at me.
"Yeah, Natalie's right." FP looked back at Archie. "But only up to a point. That serpent ink will help keep your body safe but you still gotta worry about protecting this, eh?" I rolled my eyes as FP pointed to his head. "I speak from experience, all right? Your mind is the first thing that goes when you're locked up.
If you can keep your head on straight, you can get through anything." He gave Archie a stern look."Will do Mr. Jones." He reassured him. Archie got up from the chair taking the hint that the three of us needed to be alone.
"It was nice seeing you again Natalie." I gave him a slight smile.
"You too, Red." He nodded and walked away.
"When did you get back?" FP questioned.
"Just now." I replied as I took in my surroundings.
"How are the other serpents?" Jughead asked.
"They're fine." I shrugged. "They settled."
"That's good," FP nodded.
"Yeah," I trailed off. "Is uh my trailer still in the same place?" I looked at him.
"Yeah, I've been in there a few times just to make sure everything was good in there."
I nodded my head.
"Cool." I was about to turn around in the direction I just came in.
"Wait Nat," I turned around and looked at Jughead. "Can we t-"
"I had a long drive Jones." I looked at him in annoyance.
"Oh yeah," he stuttered.
"Is there anything else?" I asked.
"Cheryl is having a pool party." I motioned for him to go on. "It will probably be a good place to see everyone again."
"No thanks." I turned on my heels and walked away from them.
