On my way to the bus stop,
a familiar voice reached my ears.
"Hey, wait for me!"
I knew it was Sydney.
She's my best friend. I would rather say we're more like sisters.
We share all secrets with each other.
She knows about Albert and just like grandma she believes me too.
Well, only I can see Albert.
I got to know about the bitter yet sweet truth at age of 12.
We don't belong to the normal human society. We rather tend to stay away from them. She's a total nerd and she loves maths.
We got to know each other when she moved into this town last summer.
She has a wheatish complexion, brown curly hair which reaches down her shoulder.
She's really tomboyish.
She's an introvert and spends most of her time studying books.
Therefore, we became friends because we were considered as 'outcasts' by others.I saw Albert waving his hand near the bus stop.
After we reached, I asked him "What are you doing here?"
Well, it would have been weird for anyone else who would see me talking to an imaginary friend but Sydney didn't mind.
She used to appreciate me and support me by telling me not to think about others. He smiled and replied "Following you perhaps"
"Go do some work instead"
"Ouch! your words hurt me"
"Hey, stop being a drama queen"A few minutes later the bus arrived.
We went and sat together. On our ride to school, Sydney kept on talking about some paranormal activities that had occured in our neighbourhood.
This was one of our favourite topics.
The bus halted and we walked towards the school.
We entered the gates of Betton High...The classes were boring as usual.
But Albert never let me feel alone at all.
I was glad to have him by my side always.
Some girls of my class made fun of me and used to call me names like 'alien'.
People laughed at me when I would talk to Albert while walking in the corridor or down the stairs.
He kept on comforting me.
I wished only if Albert would've been in real and everyone could've seen him.
We never had any relationship like other couples in our class, but we were really close.
We were more than friends yet not lovers.I was at girls' washroom.
He was furious at everyone for making me feel like this.
He paced around the little space and punched the doors often.
He wanted to avenge me.
I held his hand. I said with teary eyes and a smile on my face "I'm fine as long as you're here with me, I don't care about others anyway because they don't mean anything to me."He hugged me and said "You're so strong my eva"
Some girls entered the washroom and saw me hugging an invisible man.
They gave me a weird look and left in a hurry. After the school was over.
I decided to walk home rather than taking bus.I was halfway home with Albert by my side.
A puppy suddenly turned up infront of a car and I sprinted towards it without giving it any second thought. But I realised it was too late.
Oh my God...I'm so dead...
