Chapter 13 - The bite

Jacobs POV

I sat on my stool, working on my bike. I stared at the parts on the ground infront of me. I scratched the back of my neck and sighed.

" Whatcha doing?" I heard Emily ask from outside. " Emily? Did you walk here?" I exclaimed.

" No, I just came to say hi and bring you some mail that got sent to Seth's house instead of here" She said slightly blushing.

" are you cold?" I asked. " I'm fine" She said as her heart skipped a beat. " Your lying" I smiled. I threw her one of my sweatshirts. " Thanks" she smiled zipping it up.

" Here" she smiled handing me my mail. " thanks" I smiled.

" I'll see you Jake" she said with a sigh.

" Do you want me ride home with you?" I asked, when I saw her uneasy look.

" No, I'm ok. Mason's in the car. We are just going for pizza. I'd invite you but I promised I'd hang out with him" she said. Her heartbeat again skipped. 

What was she not telling me. She's really starting to worry me.

" It's ok, as long as your not alone" I said pulling her into a close hug. She squezed her arms around me.

" Good bye Jacob" She said. She can't be leaving. She's making this feel like a forever goodbye.

Emilys POV

I wiped away my tears as I walked back to the car. I looked back at Jacob who was leaning against the door of his garage. I waved to him and shut the car door.

" are you sure you want this?" Mason asked " I'm sure" I said starting the car.

" Tell me where to go"--

" Do you all except Emily as your sister and promise to except her and her powers, forever" Ren spoke in his alpha voice. They all nodded, I was glad they all excepted me. I don't know what I would do without any of them. Clementine smiled at me and placed the neckalace around my neck. The neckalace was what you got when you changed or phased. It was a symbol of family. They were my family now.

" Emily, are you sure" Ren asked pushing up my sleeve. I'm sure he didn't approve that it was Jacobs, but he didn't say anything. Which I was thankful for.

I felt him kiss my wrist, then he sunk his sharp canines into my flesh. I didn't feel pain. I didn't feel anything.

I was numb.

Seths POV

" What happened to her?" I asked staring blankly at Ren who was holding Emily in his arms.

" Her and Mason came over to my house to watch movies and she fell asleep. Can I lay her down?" he asked. I nodded.

As much as I wanted to hate him, I couldn't. He seemed like a nice guy. Who loved Emily.

I followed him upstairs and watched as he layed her down. He pulled of her shoes and pulled the blanket open for her. I didn't completely understand what he was doing. He walked over to the window and opened it, so you could hear the rain and feel the cold breeze.

" She likes to sleep with the window open." He smiled down at her. " She likes listening to the rain" he said. He crouched down and kissed her forehead.

" I love you" he whispered. He smiled at me before walking out.

" Thank you Seth"

" Thank you, for taking care of her" I said with a smile.

" I'll always take care of her" he said looking past me into Emily's room once more.

" Good bye Seth"

" Bye Ren" I said giving him a small wave. I walked back into Emilys room and sat at the end of her bed. Would she get hot in the sweatshirt? No, she's always cold.--

" Hey Jake" I said as he walked through the front door. " Hey, is Emily here?" he asked. " Yeah, she's-

I cringed as a blood curlding scream came from Emilys room. " asleep" I said finishing my sentence, but Jacob was already halfway upstiars.

Jacobs POV

I got up to Emilys room and she was already standing up staring at her arms. But there was nothing wrong with them.

" Emily, babe, whats wrong?" I asked holding her close to me.

" There was so much blood. Jake. It was all over me" she cried.

" It was just a dream, it's ok" I shushed her.

" It wasn't a dream, it was real" she cried. " Do you want me to lay with you?" I asked. She nodded.

" Did you open the window, and take my shoes off?" she asked. " No"

" Seth?" Emily called. He ran upstairs and pulled her into a hug.

" Did you open my window?" she asked.

" No, Ren opened it when he dropped you off.  He took off your shoes too. He said you liked listening to the rain before you went, to sleep. He said it helps you sleep." Seth explained.

I watched as the corner or Emily's mouth curled. Her smile was beautiful, I just didn't like that she was smiling about someone else.

She curled up to my body and put her head under my arm. I smiled like an idiot. But, I realized I needed to talk with Ren.

He needed to know, she was mine. Not his.
