I strolled past the tulips, occasionally stopping to drip a bit of water onto the ones that looked parched. Suddenly, there was a fluttering feeling in my hair. Thinking it a bug, I swatted at it, catching a hand in the process. "Hello there, dear." Loki's voice was soft and pleasant which made my stomach turn a bit. He obviously felt no remorse for our latest endeavor, as I did. "I came to see if, perhaps, you would go watch the lights with me this afternoon?" "Are you truly serious, Loki?" My voice came out a bit harsher than I'd intended. He stepped back. "What happened was a mistake. The two of us are obviously lonely, but we cannot make a habit of betraying Thor. No matter how I may feel about you, I cannot go on disrespecting my husband like that. It can never happen again." I found it difficult to look him in the eye, but I could hear the pain in his voice as he responded. "But you do have feelings for me, not Thor? Answer me that." I cast my eyes downwards, unable to admit to my feelings. Nevertheless, he continued. "I've never felt this for anyone. I love my brother dearly, but I cannot allow him to take another thing from me." I reached for his cheek before pulling him into an embrace. "I'm so sorry..." I whispered, choosing Thor without having to say so aloud. Still, I wondered if it were the right decision.
