Corruption || Loki X Sigyn

     The night before my wedding day, I slept the worst I had in ages. As I had decided not to tell Frigga about my findings, I had to continue on as if everything were normal. Truthfully, though, my mind was stuck on Loki. How had he spiraled so low? Was his thirst for power so strong that he would go to those lengths? The thoughts hurt my heart. "It's time, Milady." A servant spoke as she stuck her head in the doorway. I took a deep breath. "Worry later, It is time to do your duty as Asgard's future queen." I reminded myself.

     As I stepped down the aisle, I searched the crowd for Loki as best as I could through the lace of my veil. While I didn't blame him for not wanting to attend, I'd be lying if I said that It didn't hurt not seeing him there. Looking ahead to Thor, his smile more than made up for it. The ceremony was nothing special, but once i closed my eyes and kissed my husband for the first time, everyone in the crowd gasped. I opened my eyes to see Loki standing where Thor had moments before. "Surprise." He whispered, grinning wickedly. Sif lunged forward, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. "What have you done with Thor?" She shouted, prompting a snicker from Loki. "He's just a bit tied up at the moment." With a wave of his hand, Thor materialized onto the aisle, bound and gagged. In all the commotion, I lost my breath and fell to the ground unconscious.

     I woke up with Thor, Odin, and Frigga by my bedside. "I must apologize for my son's behavior. You needn't worry, however, as the ceremony will be rescheduled at your earliest convenience." Oddly enough, I found myself shaking my head. "I don't think we should reschedule, if i'm honest." Everyone looked as confused as I felt in that moment but I truly felt like this was the only out I'd ever get and If I didn't take it, I'd regret it. "I'm sorry." I gripped Thor's hand and he began to plead with me but I just shook my head once more. "I do not wish to divorce. The wedding was official, therefore I feel that would be necessary to continue on with this marriage." He looked sad but understanding.

     When I was discharged from the medbay, Loki was waiting for me. "You know, I didn't think you'd be this great of a sport." Shrugging his hand off of my shoulder, I murmured. "This isn't about you." Though I wasn't exactly sure I could convince myself of that either.
