Next morning I wake up in the living room which is where I slept the entire night. I see Stacy grabbing some of her things. She looks at me and I look back at her.
"I'm heading back to the hospital." She says. As she's leaving.
"Yeah you might as well stay there." I tell her. She turned around and looked at me.
"I was gonna tell you soon."
"Tell me what?"
"About Christian and I." I looked at her confused.
"I thought you guys barely—"
"No Marilyn. Fuck, this is why I didn't wanna tell you."
I thought about it and tried puzzling the pieces together.
"Mark didn't cheat on you. He wasn't the one who couldn't keep his pants zipped up."
"We're in love." She says.
"If he's so in love with you then why did he just come and tell me that he misses me."
"It was all an act." She says.
"Bullshit. He's using you to get to me. Are you that stupid?"
"Why does everything have to revolve around you? Why can't I have someone for once that actually cares about me?" I went to her room, grabbed her bags and threw them outside.
"Lea let's talk about this, you're my best friend."
"Bitch if you don't get out" she looked at me with her melancholy eyes, and walked to her car with her bags. She drove off.
I decided to take a personal day today from work. I had no intentions of going. Hopefully they won't fire me, since I just started. They'll probably think I'm unreliable.
The entire day, all I did was just watch television, wishing I had Baloo and Zero back.
One Week Later
I told Dr. Towell I had a stalker and that it was unsafe for me to go to the hospital at this time. He was completely understandable so I haven't gone to work in about a week. I haven't gone out. I've been home bound. Haven't spoken a word to anyone at all. I wrapped a blanket around me, made some coffee, and sat on my porch. Fresh air after a week.
"Jesus you look like shit." I heard a voice coming from the driveway.
"Nice seeing you too Gemma."
"Are you really feeling that sorry for yourself?"
"You know for once I would like some peace. I don't need anyone telling me what I already know."
"This behavior is not healthy." She said as she walked to my porch.
"You need a man. A real man." She said.
"I don't need a man I need some peace and quiet."
"Fair enough." She sits down with me. She pulls out a carton of cigarettes and puts one in her mouth. She hands one to me.
"You still love that guy?"
"I barely know anyone here and you all know so much more than my actual family."
"We're very observant."
"I see that."
She pauses for a minute and smokes. Then, she speaks again.
"Jax and Tara are going through it. That's why he's been trying to spread open your legs."
"Are you going somewhere with this Gemma?"
"I'm saying that when shit goes back to normal, so will they. I don't want you to get any wrong ideas of him. He loves that girl. Always has."
"Yeah." Was all I could say.
"Get your shit together. It'll turnaround." She said. She got up and started walking away.
"Thanks for the smoke." I said.
I showered, tried to look decent, and drove to the police station.
"I remember you." The old man with barely any hair told me. "Marilyn right?"
"Yes. Sorry I can't remember your name."
"I'm chief Unser. What can I do for you? Here let's go to my office."
I sat in his office, it was pretty small for a chief of police.
"What can I do for you?"
"I need a restraining order."
"You need a lawyer for that. Who's bothering you?"
"He's not from here. I just don't know how it works."
"I can get you someone that'll help. Wait here." He gets up and comes back with a man.
"Marilyn this is deputy chief Hale."
"Hi nice to meet you." I told him.
"What can I do?" Hale asks.
"I need a restraining order."
"Who's bothering you?" It's like speaking to Unser's clone. I told both of them what happened. Hale's dad is a judge and told me he's able to help me. We'll stay in touch.
I walk to the parking lot and see a parade of bikers driving. It was Jax's crew. One of them pulls off to the side and in the parking lot where I was.
"Everything okay?" He asks me.
"Yeah everything's fine. Thanks." I tried making conversation. "Family reunion?"
"Something like that. Haven't seen you in awhile."
"Yeah, been pretty homebound."
"Doubt he'll be back but if he does let me know."
"Yeah I will thanks."
"Aight see you later doc." He says and drives off.
