After hours and hours of fixing and unpacking, I decided that I'll finish tomorrow. It was already dark so i figured might as well stop. I open the fridge and of course, there's no food. & to top it off, I have no car. I was thinking if I should just not eat tonight and then just eat tomorrow? But I haven't ate since the morning and it's around 8 PM so I think I'll just walk to get food.
I knocked next door to my neighbor Jax's house to ask where the nearest restaurant was.
A woman opened the door. She had dark brunette hair and hazelish eyes.
"Can I help you?" She asked quite concerned.
"I just moved in next door, but I was wondering if you knew where a nearest restaurant was" she gave me directions on different restaurants and where each one was.
"Thanks, nice to meet you" I said and she did the same.
I started to walk in the direction she told me to go. I hear a bike pulling up next to me.
"Out for a walk?"
"More like walking for food"
"Where's your car?"
"Don't have one anymore"
"Where you heading to?"
"Somewhere to get food, I don't really have any"
"You want a lift?"
"No thanks I'll just walk, it's good to get to know the area I'm living in"
"Last chance" he said with a half smile.
"Alright" I said and sat on the back of his bike. He gave me his helmet.
"I don't need a helmet" I said. He gave me a surprised smirk.
"Just wear it" so I just put it on.
We arrived at little shops around.
"The grocery store is open until 9, you have a little bit until they close."
"Thanks" I said. I asked for a restaurant but he brought me to a grocery store. It's okay, might as well buy some shit I need.
Jax started to get off his bike.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you get home?"
"You really wanna walk by yourself in the dark with groceries?"
"Like I said it'll be nice to get to know the area"
"Alright it's your call, see you around neighbor" and he drove off.
I bought quite a lot of things, & it was heavy & to top it off it was really dark. Well that's just great.
I began walking to God knows where. I didn't remember the direction Jax had brought me in so I started to walk around and see where'd I end up.
I ended up walking by this auto shop, but it had a bunch of bikes likes Jax's & the men in their had the same symbol as Jax did on his vest. I thought it would be a good idea to ask someone for help on how to get back.
The gate was open so I walked in.
"Who are you & what do you want" someone with a gun pointed at me asked.
"Shit man put it away I'm not here to harm anyone I just need help"
"Help with what"
"Just some directions" he still had the gun pointed at me. Thankfully, a familiar face came.
"What's going on"
"This chick needs direction"
"Marilyn? How'd you get in here how'd you know I'd be here?"
"Can you first tell him to aim his gun elsewhere" Jax gave him an approving look and the guy put the gun away.
"I didn't know you were in here, I just saw the same looking symbols as you have on your vest so I figured maybe one of your help people can help me with directions because I'm hella lost"
"This is really bad timing Marilyn"
"I know I'm sorry I just need directions"
"I'll give you a lift"
"You said is bad timing tho"
"It is but I was on my way home anyways" I got on his bike & he drove me home.
"Thanks"
"No problem" I picked up my groceries but he kept giving me this weird look.
"What is it"
"I'm guessing you're unemployed"
"Well you guessed right" I started to walk to my porch.
"Me and the boys always could use an extra hand to take care of the warehouse"
"You want me to be a fuckin janitor?"
"Bar tender"
"Thanks but bar tending isn't really my thing. It is an auto shop isn't it?"
"Yeah but-"
"Well my brother use to own an auto shop and I use to help him all the time, I know about all that shit"
"Use to?"
"He passed few years ago"
"Oh sorry, but I don't know your skills or anything"
"You can watch me for a couple of days and if you don't like it then I'll be your bar tender"
"Okay tomorrow? 9?"
"Sounds good"
"Do you need a ride" he said lightweight chuckling.
"I can walk but I don't mind"
"Alright then, stay safe neighbor" he said and I started to inside my house.
I put my groceries away where the belong and decided to take a shower and go to bed. It was maybe 12 already and I'm not gonna have that much time to sleep.
