"Wake up Eva! Time for school!" Mrs. Nanchez yelled through the bedroom door. Eva just rolled over and groaned. She never liked early mornings. Mondays were always the worst. But, she reluctantly crawled out of bed and grabbed the outfit she had put together yesterday and put on her dresser and walked into the bathroom. When she had showered, dressed, brushed and dried her hair, she grabbed her backpack and made sure all of her homework was inside. She then walked out of her room and sat down at the kitchen table for breakfast. Mrs. Nanchez had already made some egg sandwiches for her. One for breakfast. One for lunch. And an extra one in case she needed a snack.
"Bye!" Eva called out before shutting the door. She was kind of glad everything was close together. All she had to do was ride her bike to school. Exercise, yea! Eva grabbed her bike from the storage room it was chained in and put the chain in her pocket for later. Eva then took the bike outside and looked around. The bustling streets never ceased. People constantly walked down the sidewalks like blood in your body. Eva took a deep breath before setting off. She peddled along a small path that was especially for bikes. The wind blew in her face as she smelled the oxygen she so desperately needed. When she realized someone was riding their bike on the same path, in the wrong direction, it was too late. "Look out!!!" Eva screamed as she braced for impact. Then, everything seemed to freeze. Eva slowly opened her eyes and saw that everything was absolutely still. No one was even blinking. Eva looked around wide eyed, not believing what was happening. 'Am, I, doing this?!' Eva asked herself. Worried time would start up again soon Eva got off her bike and walked it out of the way. When her heart stopped beating like crazy, time continued, and Eva had no idea what had just happened. Eva walked the rest way to school. She was almost there anyway, and she was always early when she rode her bike.
When Eva arrived at school she chained her bike up like normal. Her heart was still beating slightly faster than usual because of earlier. She pushed the door open and saw the usual busy halls. Eva walked up to her locker like every day and entered her number. It didn't unlock. Eva tried again. Still.. it didn't work. Out of sudden anger Eva pulled quickly on the lock and was astonished when the metal lock broke open and her locker door swung into her face. She fell down on her bum and held her bleeding nose. 'What the!!?'
"Miss Eva?" Mr. Cabillis asked as he stopped to look at her on his way to class. Eva quickly stood up, holding her bleeding nose, and ran to the bathroom. After studying her nose, Eva was sure it was broken. She held it in place to make sure she didn't hurt it anymore. The blood continued to poor from it. This was definitely not her first bloody nose, she used to have them daily before she started using cream, but she had never broken it before. Even though she was in pain Eva refused to let any of the girls see her nose.
"Oh Eva!" A familiar sassy voice said from behind her. She turned around from the wall to see the bully-wannabes. The front girl, now known as Suzii, smiled at Eva's condition. "What a nice outfit." She said with a fake complimenting voice as she gestured to Eva's clothes. She was wearing a pair of light blue jeans that stopped above her ankles and a light teal t-shirt. "It would be such a bummer if you got any blood on it." She said as she punched her hand, threateningly.
"Back off Suzii." Eva warned.
"Or what?! You gunna call your boyfriend?" Suzii teased. She and the other two girls then began slowly walking towards her. Eva still had to hold her nose with one hand so it would be hard to fight all three of them. As the girls walked closer, Eva felt her nose tingle. Then, the blood suddenly stopped. Eva took the paper towels away from her nose to reveal her nose was completely fine.
"Wait!? I thought you said her nose was broken." One of the three girls pointed out. Eva looked in the mirror and saw no sign of any injury but some crusty blood still on her nose.
