'Where is Hinata?!" I wondered. I hoped she didn't get into trouble with her family.

I spotted Naruto, Shikamaru and Choji talking in the corner. I stormed over to them.

"What?" Shikamaru grumbled. I knew he wasn't my biggest fan.

"Where is Hinata?" I growled.

"HA!" Naruto shouted, "I KNEW she was your girlfriend!"

"Just answer my question!"

"We haven't seen her in a while," Choji answered, eating.

"You saw her last night!" I accused.

"How do you know that?" Shikamaru asked.

"I was trailing you last night," I responded.

"You were following your girlfriend weren't you?!" Naruto grinned. I rolled my eyes.

"Honest, we haven't seen her," Choji spoke.

Grumbling, I walked away.

"Hello class," Iruka spoke, walking in, "today we'll be covering-" Iruka stopped mid-sentence hearing someone coughing lightly. We all turned our heads and spotted Hinata standing in the doorway.

"S-sorry I'm late," she apologised, fidgeting.

"No worries, we're just beginning." Iruka gestured his hand toward the seats, and Hinata sat down.

"Right. As I was saying, today we'll be covering Earth techniques. Can anyone name an Earth Jutsu?"

I could name ten right off the top of my head, but I waited for someone else to answer. To my surprise, Hinata raised her hand.

"Yes, Hinata?" Iruka asked.

"One Earth Release technique is Mud Wave," she mumbled.

"Good job!" he praised. I was surprised Hinata would be bold enough to answer. I wondered what had happened after I went home.

After another extremely boring day, I stopped Hinata when she was about to leave.

"H-hi," she stammered.

"I need to talk to you about something," I responded, ignoring her greeting.

"O-okay," she answered.

"A few days ago, you weren't here at the academy. I went to your home to check on you and saw you training." I saw her stiffen as I continued. "I heard that guy Neji say something about you reclaiming your place as heir to the Hyuga family. What was he talking about?"

She continued to fidget and for a moment—I thought she didn't hear me. As I was about to ask again she began to speak, "What d-do you want to know?"

"How did you lose your right as heir?"

She was silent for a minute, then spoke, "W-well, a few months ago, my younger sister Hanabi and I fought for heir. I lost and Father was very disappointed. I'm surprised he hasn't thrown me out of the household yet."

She looked downward. Exhaling slowly, I left.
