The exams were today, finally.

I'd been ready for this since the day I entered the academy.

When I walked into the classroom, I noticed the atmosphere was completely different from normal days. Everyone was tense, wondering if they'd pass.

'Tch,' I thought, 'I don't need to worry. I studied and practiced everything; there was no way I'd fail.'

"Good morning class," Iruka spoke. We mimicked his greeting.

"Are you all ready for the exams?"

"Yes!" We responded.

"Good. Well, let's begin!"

"Excuse me." Iruka was interrupted by someone walking in. He had a gray beard, a long white coat and a familiar hat.

"Ah, Lord Third," Iruka bowed, "it's a pleasure to have you here."

"Yes. I wish I was coming here under pleasant circumstances, but I suppose not."

Looking at us, he said, "It seems Hinata Hyuga did not return home last night." That got my attention.

"I'd like you all to go look for her. Whoever finds her first will have extra points added to their exam score."

'Why is he treating her as though she were just some scavenger hunt?' I thought, aggravated. I shook it off, 'Doesn't matter, if I find her, then it'll raise my score, not that I really need it.'

I quickly left the academy and began my search.

I decided to first check the Hyuga household, so I sprinted there. To my dismay, Hinata was not there, nor did anyone see her.

I checked the stores in town, but no one had seen her. Then it hit me. I saw her leave with Naruto and his friends. They were heading toward the training grounds.

'Naruto probably realized this too.' For some reason, it bugged me to think about someone else saving her.

I rushed into the training grounds, and began my search. But alas, I could not find her.

Then, I heard the sound of a river.

'Oh no, someone tried to drown her once already, what if they tried again?'

I rushed to the river and worriedly peered into the water. I didn't see any blood, which was good, but I didn't see Hinata.

I decided to follow the river downstream. After about two minutes, I spotted a lump beside the river.

Running over, I realized it was Hinata.
