“You have got to be kidding me,” I mutter, clutching Jeongguk and Taehyung’s luggage as they run off to the restroom.

We were an hour late to check in because Jin couldn’t get his parents to the door to drop off Gukmul. Namjoon panicked because he couldn’t find his lucky 2 dollars and we had to drive back home. And, as if that wasn't enough, they urgently needed to use the restroom while there were only six people in line in front of us.

“Noa noona, it’ll be fine,” Hoseok tries to console me, patting my arm. “It’s always hectic when we travel.”

“Not with me,” I spat stepping forward in line and lugging all three suitcases with me.

Yoongi fake-whispers to Jimin who is leaning on him in a dazed state, agitating me further, “Control freak.”

Jimin giggles and I shoot him a death glare. “If they aren’t back by the time we get to the front of the line, I’m telling Bang-shi to never let you out of this damn country again,” I growl and they all go silent.

While fuming in my anger, I open my folder and scan the same schedule I’d been reviewing since Bang-shi told me we were going to the US for a interview session. I had been excited, as it would be the first time I traveled with the guys somewhere outside of Korea, and the first time I'd be back home. Bang-shi thought it’d be best that I travel with them due to my own familiarity with American culture, translation abilities and my organization.

I chew my bottom lip, second guessing his choice as the line inches forward again and there was no sign of the two runaways returning any time soon.

It has been about six months since I started working for Big Hit and I can see why this type of lifestyle wears people out. People are cut throat and vicious. They will do anything to pull themselves up the social ladder. I have fired at least five people on the team because of this behavior.

It was a rough transition and was met with opposition by many of my higher ups and equals in the company, but Bang-shi trusted in me to keep the boys climbing the charts and I did. Their live stream engagement has increased since I had the implementation of translated English subtitles. Their interviews have been more personal and insightful since I require the questions to be reviewed by my team before they reach the band. As a whole, they have improved in communicating with the team on a more connected level. They are peaking at a wondrous rate and don't seem to be dropping any time soon.

I have also gotten closer to six of the seven members. Jin and Jeongguk have invited me to several family dinners while Namjoon and Jimin have introduced me to most of their loved ones over the phone. Taehyung and Hoseok insist on catching lunches and dinners together almost every off day I have. We’re like a family at this point.

On the other hand, Yoongi and I haven’t had any moments since his shoulder incident. It’s just been a game of cat and dog, who can be more sarcastic, more annoying, more witty.

It isn’t the prettiest of bonds, but he at least makes an effort to tell me when he isn’t feeling right about a partnership or is struggling to catch up with choreography.

Jin pats my shoulder when we reach the front, my expression murderous. I twitch with frustration as I step back and let the remaining members pass me, handing them their passports and tickets. Just as I start squeaking curses out of anger, Tae and Jeongguk appear and take their luggages from my grasp.

By the time I pass through security, I manage to stop murmuring explicits and give a once over to check that everyone made it out successfully. “Okay, we’re at Gate 206 in Terminal B. Don’t get lost.”

Hoseok ambles off, power walking in the direction of the signs and Jimin rushes after him, mocking him in the process. Namjoon, Yoongi and Jin keep up with the two, all joking amongst one another. Tae and Jeongguk look back knowingly, slowing down to match my pace before they speak.

“Are you excited to see your eomma?” Tae sweetly puts a hand on my shoulder, trying to distract me from my rage.

“No.”

“Your appa?” Jeongguk joins in.

“No.”

“If I buy you a hottek, will you love me?” Tae mentions my newfound obsession that Hoseok hooked me on.

I tilt my head as if considering and for a moment Tae breaks into a smile. “No,” I hide a laugh by shrugging his arm off.

“Noa nooooonnnaaaaaa, pleaseeeeeee,” Jeongguk rushes in front of me, walking backwards to make eye contact. “Forgive me. I am a child! I’m sowwwwyyyy.”

I grab his arm and twist him out of the way of other irritated passengers, fighting a bubbling laugh and grin. “Don’t push it. You know how stressed I was about missing your flight!”

“Let us make it up to you!” Tae insists, turning backwards to do the same dangerous activity as his friend.

We bicker for a bit with me acting an a pilot of their backwards flight and them as obnoxious passengers.

Up ahead I hear a groan then feel Jeongguk ripped from my grasp causing me to stumble forward a bit. “If she wants to sulk, let her sulk,” Yoongi says, wrapping an arm around Jeongguk’s neck. “It’s a talent of hers.”

I bite back potential comebacks and instead focus on Tae, eyes squinting. He shrugs then looks to the left, spotting a bakery in the line of stores. “I’ll be back!”

I huff, stomping a foot down as he rushes to get in line. I watch the rest of the guys continue at lightning speed to the terminal and decide that they are old enough to read and locate a gate themselves. I give into the charm of Tae and join his place in line with a smile.

“Do you have a boyfriend in the US?” he teases, pulling out a credit card.

I shake my head, “Not that I know of. I’m doomed to be alone.”

“You sound just like him,” Tae chuckles earning an eye roll from me.

“I don’t know who you’re talking about.”

“See! I can’t believe you’re older than me when you act like this noona.”

I pretend to be fascinated by the menu above us, unable to keep the whine out of my voice, “He’s a pain in the ass.”

“The same could be said about you.”

“Have you seen how he talks to me?!”

We reach the register where I order a hottek and he orders some type of jelly donut. He pays then we restart our mission to Gate 206, our hands completely occupied with both a suitcase and snacks. Before I can bite into the treat, he continues our previous conversation.

“Have you seen how you talk to him?”

I pout then pull off a chunk, chewing for a moment, “It’s not like he makes it any easier. He just finds the pettiest of stuff to nag on and I can’t just let--”

“Him win,” Tae finishes my sentence perfectly causing me to shoot a glare his way then says through a mouthful. “So the game goes in circles.”

“He’s hard to read... You out of all people should know that.”

“Only if you aren't looking,” he nudges my shoulder.

We reach Gate 206 and, much to my relief, I spot the rest of the members. They spread out between two rows of chairs and I decide it’s safest for me to sit beside Hoseok, who has done the least to irritate me today, and finish my dessert.

I then close my eyes and fold into small chair, willing Taehyung’s comment to the back of my brain. I drift into a restless, dreamless nap, wishing one look was enough to understand the mystery of Min Yoongi.
