Chapter Thirty Five: Making New Friends

I woke up about 10:30 p.m the next day, I got up and left the room when I made it into the hallway, I saw Jessica walking around, she seemed to be looking for someone.

"Hey Jessica, something on your mind?" I asked

She seemed to be startled by my sudden appearance, she then started blushing like crazy.

"Oh D...Dash h...hi, I was just looking f...for you" she struggled to say.

"Why? Is there something wrong" I asked

"No no there's nothing wrong! I just wanted to tell you that the attack will be in an hour or so" Jessica said

I still could tell that she had something on the top of her mind, so decided to ask her about it.

"Hey, I can tell you are thinking about something, would...you like to talk about?" I asked

Her face turned into a dark crimson when she realized I noticed.

"Would you...like to take...a walk with me?" she asked

I was surprised by what she said, I knew she was a big fan, but I wasn't expecting her to ask for something like this.

Jessica and I both go out the front door and into the cold, night, We both take a left and we start walking down the sidewalk, it was a little funny because this entire time, we didn't say a word to one another, I guess this could help clear my mind before we go attack the facility. I needed to break the ice, cause it was getting a little embarrassing.

"So...why did you ask me to walk with you? Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked

She shook her head.

"I just wanted to....I don't know...I guess try to know you more like a... friend?" Jessica replied

"Oh" I said.

I mean I have no problem with that, but before I could mention anything else, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, I pull it out to see that Mercedees is calling me. I answer the call.

"Hey Mercedees, what's up" I asked

"Hey, we need you to come back, we're going to head out soon" she said

"Okay, I'm on my way!" I replied

I end the call and put my phone back in my pocket, I turn over to Jessica.

"We need to head back" I said

She looks at me nervously.

"We walked a fair distance away! Are you sure that we can make it back in time?" Jessica asked

I give her a smug smile.

"Are you serious?! You're supposed to be my biggest fan and yet you have no idea what I'm capable of?!" I said, acting shocked

She looks upset, like she should know but doesn't, but she shrugs it off with a laugh.

"Ha well...I guess I'm not that big of a fan then" Jessica laughs

I pick her up bridal style, she lets out a yelp then blushes. Startled by my sudden actions.

"W...w...what are...y...you doing?" Jessica asked, nervously

"Showing you what I can do" I said, smiling

With Jessica in my arms, I run down the sidewalk, up the hill, and back to the house.

By the time we got back, the resistance was already setting up a meeting, I sat Jessica down, and she let out a giggle and then wrapped her arms around me.
