They didn't waste time asking her if she was sure or not, Rhysand turned towards Cassian and asked him if he knew where Zachary went to what the illyrian warrior shook his head and said, "No."

"I think he's at the Winter Court," Evalin said. "I felt cold right before I tried to reach him."

"We all go to the Winter Court and split up." Rhysand told his people.

"I'm coming with you," Evalin said.

She thought he would refuse but he nodded and extended his hand to her, she took it and he winnowed them to a place covered in snow.

Zach. She called for him, Zachary!

No reply, she took a deep breath to calm herself and snapped her head to the right.

She sniffed again and ran, Rhysand calling after her. She stopped at the sight of mountains and sniffed again and was sure she smelled rain, his scent.

"Evalin," Rhysand caught up to her. "What is-?"

"He's in there," she pointed to the mountains.

She made to run towards them, but Rhysand caught her arm stopping her.

She glared at him and growled, "Let go."

"Don't you smell that?" He asked her.

"His scent I know! That's how I got here." She snapped at him.

"No," he shook his head. "It smells... wrong."

She frowned, "All I can smell is Zachary." She snatched her arm free and ran towards the mountains. There was a cave and she walked in, Rhysand following behind her, now his scent was stronger and so was the smell of blood.

Fury was what she was feeling, if the one who hurt him was there she wasn't going to ask questions and punch later.

She called the flames to her fingertips and gasped, Zachary laid unconscious on the ground. She knelt beside him and checked if he was breathing, she let out a sigh of relief when she confirmed he was still alive.

"Evalin," Rhysand came up to them. "We have to get out of here."

She glanced up at him and saw that his face was hard, his muscles tense.

"Rhysand, what is wrong?" She asked him.

He shook his head slowly, "I don't know but there is something, I don't what but something feels awfully wrong."

There was a silhouette behind him and her eyes widened, "Duck!" She yelled and raised her hand, he ducked and she sent a ball of flame towards what was about to attack the High Lord.

The thing screeched and backed away.

She stood up and Rhysand grabbed her arm, she looked down at him and he was surprised by the fire that was in her eyes.

"Take Zach home, he needs a healer." She said then looked straight forward to the one responsible for hurting her mate. "I'll take care of this."

He nodded and squeezed her hand, "I'll be right back."

She felt him leave then she tilted her head to the side, "Why don't you come out so you and me can have a little fun."

"How are you here?" Their voice was ugly, deep, raspy and dark. "How is it possible?" It wasn't male nor female, it wasn't from this world. "

"You hurt my mate and now I will hurt you." She said to the darkness.

The thing stayed quiet, "I thought your mate was that warrior Prince." It said.
