Night and Fire

Chapter 9

A blanket of blackness enveloped Zachary, it was cold and dark. He tried to move but couldn't, he felt trapped, he scream for help, but nothing happened for a while then the darkness was replaced by light and he felt calm and warm.

"Evalin," her scent filled his whole being.

"Zach," a voice far away called for him.

"Eva?"

"Baby," the female voice became clearer. "You're finally awake."

He opened his eyes and was met with his mother's beautiful face, but it wasn't the face he wanted to see. He looked around the room, "Where is Evalin?"

His parents shared a look and his mom said, "She isn't here."

He frowned, "But... she was, right?"

She shook her head, "How are you feeling?"

She was changing the subject so he guessed Evalin had asked them not to tell him she was there or maybe he was imagining things then he realized that he was in his room.

"Wait, how did I get here?"

"I brought you back." His father said.

He tried to remember what had happened, but his head hurt, "What happened?"

"It's quite the story," his dad said. "So let's talk about it during breakfast."

"Valg?" Dorian asked.

Evalin nodded, "Two of them."

Once she woke up she told her mother to gather everyone in the living room to tell them what had happened back in Prythian.

"And the Prince said that only a few dozen walked throug the portal."

"There is a huge possibility that he lied about that." Her mom said.

"I know," Evalin said. "That's why I told them that we would help." She looks at all of them, "We will help, right?"

"Of course." Her uncle Dorian said and the others agreed as well.

"Good, then I'll speak with Rhysand and Feyre to set a date for the meeting."

Draely was half witch and because of her fate she has been alone since the day of she was born. She is alive thanks to an Ironteeth witch who took pity on her and took care of her until she was five, even then she didn't get to see the witch very often.

The Ironteeth witch said she would come see her one day, but didn't show up that said day. Draely waited for her as the days passed then weeks, months then a year and Draely knew the witch was never coming back.

She's been alone ever since then... until Rysku found her. One rainy night she laid in a cave she found while running away from some Adarlan guards after stealing some food when she heard and felt the ground tremble beneath her.

When she went outside she found out it was a big beast what had caused it and that he was hurt. She helped him and he let her, they haven't been apart since then.

Draely and Rysku were hiding in the forest near Terrasen and Adarlan. "So that is the Ashryver kid, huh?"

She watched the blonde male as he changed forms from man to wolf, from wolf to lion then back to human. He groaned and she watched him rub his temples.

"This is not going to be so hard after all," she shrugged. "He is not bad to look at."

Rysku huffed.
