Busan

It had been a few weeks since Dva had been able to leave to speak with her commander. Y/N was in the base carefully removing the power cables from some of the machinery they used so that way they would be easier to carry out, Viper was packing up the necessary equipment they would require to fix up the mechs, Hayley was doing an inventory check of the necessary power supply consoles they used to recharge the mechs and repair them after their missions, and Jason was packing up the machinery that Y/N disconnected the power cables from. Their mechs also helped out by loading up the packed up consoles and machinery onto a large transport ship.

They had decided to use a transport as it would be a lot easier to move the supplies than for the mechs to carry them. Not to mention that the transport was faster and was much bigger, making it easier for them to store their supplies and to move the mechs around. Once they’d made sure everything was packed up, and had done several sweeps of the base to ensure they’d gotten everything they needed, they boarded the transport ship. The mechs got into their places in the maintenance room to be repaired, recharged and rearmed, and the others got to the cockpit. Y/N started up the engines and the ship took off

“Well, onward to Busan”, he announced and the squad cheered

“Let’s just hope that Dva person told them to expect us”, Slone said with her arms folded. Y/N looked at her

“Don’t worry, I told her to. But I told her to not mention us, just say they’ll be getting some unexpected help. For now, we’ll use the transport as the base until we get there. This thing may be quick compared to the other transports we’ve used but based off what the computer says, it’ll take us at least 3 days to get there. Busan is in Korea, we’re currently in Antarctica. Not to mention we’ll probably encounter a lot of air traffic. You can’t trust anyone these days to manage the freaking air properly can you?”, Y/N replied and Viper chuckled

“As long as they know the skies belong to us when we’re in action, we’ll be fine. You did say for her to suggest we get paid for this stuff right?”, he replied.

“Don’t worry, guys. Everything is taken care of. She’ll tell her commander to expect help and that we want payment for our services. We all used to be mercenaries for crying out loud, so it’s kind of something we expect”, Y/N replied.

“Good. Because we’ll need money if we’re gonna be able to improve our Titan’s performances and upgrade their weaponry. Not to mention being able to put food on the table. But we should be reasonable when it comes to our price. We can’t be too expensive, nor can we set too low a price”, Trinity piped up and Slone nodded

“Good point. We should also try to negotiate some sort of deal for us to get parts and other stuff to upgrade our Titans as well. You think I got Ion the way she is by going cheap? No way!”, she said. Y/N thought about it

“If it comes down to it, I’ll have a face to face with the commander of Dva’s squad. Or maybe even Blisk could help. I mean, yeah I’m the team leader, but Blisk is the one who gives us the briefings and communicates to us about incoming threats. Maybe he could also speak to the commander”, he suggested and Viper nodded

“Blisk has had the most experience with this sort of thing, so maybe he could help us out. He is our commander after all, just like that MEKA squad has a commander.”, Viper said as he fixed up one of his mech’s thrusters from his position in the hangar.

“I mean we all have callsigns of our own. Y/N is Monarch due to him being the team leader. Slone is Ion, due to that central power system. Hayley is Scorch due to the flame abilities. Viper would be Northstar due to his status as a sniper but he prefers Viper for some reason. Jason is Ronin due to his experience with a sword and the fact that the word ronin comes from Japanese culture regarding samurai. I’m known as Tone due to the lock on ability and the saying about having good tone. And Beth is known as Legion due to her abilities as a tank. Our callsigns all also stem from the class of mech we use.”, Trinity said as she headed down to the mech bay and began working on upgrading Tone’s chassis. Y/N nodded as he looked out of the window as the cold and frigid landscape of Antarctica disappeared below them. He headed to the communications room and patched into Blisk, informing him about their situation and suggesting he head to Busan to negotiate the paycheck of the squad.

“Gotcha. We’re mercenaries so we gotta be paid for our work. Not to mention that Slone can use the salvage from these things to upgrade Ion too, or we can use it to upgrade the ship. Never let potential upgrading material go to waste. I’ll be in touch with details soon.”, he said before he closed the channel. A few hours later, Y/N was contacted by Blisk again.

“Alright. So I spoke with the commander. She said that we gotta prove ourselves. If we impress her and the squad, then we’ll be paid well. I’m certain that we’ll do that. After all, we’ve fought through countless missions together and we’ve upgraded our Titans. So this should be a piece of cake. I’ll send you coordinates for the rendezvous point”, he explained and Y/N received coordinates. He quickly input them into the computer and the ship set a course for the coordinates.
