WARNING DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR P5
I'm not so happy with this to be honest because I don't think it makes that much sense, but I hope you like it animelover187 and there's always time for more requests if this didn't hit the spot!
I heard Rufus Wainwright's Out of the Game for the first time in years and had to rewatch the video, so that's where a lot of this came from. I hope you guys can make sense of it, meanwhile I'm off to bed because I have a busy day at work tomorrow and then babysitting, boooo. The stand power in this is pretty much the same as Maya Fey's medium abilities from Ace Attorney, since I'm unoriginal.
Smiling at the weighty tome in your hand, you greeted him as you would do normally. Fugo only worked part time at the book shop, but he hadn't been on your shift for over two weeks now, prompting you to worry. The blonde man shuffled past, somewhat heavy and burdened as if he was desperate to find words for something important. You frowned, scanning him top to bottom and back again. The way he was ignoring you indicated he'd probably found a girl worth his time. That had to be it. Fugo was intelligent, polite and caring, of course a nice girl would fall for him. Shy smile wilting, you disappeared behind a different bookshelf in order to hide your face, embarrassed you ever crushed on him in the first place. Sighing and going back to your work, you were almost certain you heard him say "nice tights," referring to your yellow hosiery with cheese-like holes in them. You'd never admit it, but you cut them in yourself, in a bid to feel a part of him was still with you, working these boring shifts. Pushing it to the back of your mind with a shake of your head, you clambered up onto the store's dodgy kickstep, pushing old paperbacks to the side to make room for the one in your hand.
"Hey, I said nice tights."
"Oh," you stammered, unable to look him in the eyes. Now you were finding yourself angry at something he might not even have done. "Thanks." The young man continued to stand beside you, watching intently as you worked. Turning your head slightly, he was staring right at you, eyes filling with water despite his face showing no emotion. What was going on with him?
Locking gazes for a few seconds, you subconsciously lowered yourself down from the step, matching his height.
"I got a new job," he murmured, averting his eyes. "That's where I've been." Something about his words seemed out of touch. He was upset about his new job, anywhere was better than this stupid library. Before you could reply, the librarian popped his head round and dismissed you early. Knowing better than to argue with it, you picked up your bag and left, inviting your colleague. The city was covered in a crisp, burnt colour. Crunchy leaves snapped beneath your shoes, Autumn chill starting to bite at your skin. The majority of your small walk, he was silent, thinking on what to say. You were unsure where you were going, just walking. Eventually, you stopped and took his hand, looking right into his maroon eyes.
"Pannacotta, tell me everything. I don't care what it is, it needs to come out." Stunned, he simply stared at you in awe. "I'm your friend, right?"
Needless to say, he told you everything. Sitting on the end of a fountain, Fugo had spilled his sorrows like vomit. Some things were crazy, like his lecherous teachers at school and a gang he was part of until six months ago. Apparently, he'd abandoned them because the mission they were embarking on was practically suicide, and it had left him riddled with guilt. Now, he'd discovered three of them died, one of them an older boy he tried to tutor in maths and found himself on the streets, homeless and starving.
"Guess you could say I was out of the game, until recently."
"Is that your new job?"
"They let me back in, two of them overthrew the boss."
"I'm not saying I don't believe you but, that sounds like the kind of thing you only read in books," you stated, poking your cheek in thought. For a moment, a relieved smile pulled at his features. "But I'm sorry about your friends. That's rough. Especially Narancia." Leaning into his, you wrapped your arms around his stiff body in the autumn air. Contorting his face, this was a level of affection he wasn't used to, so he was a little unsure what to do. Giggling, you sunk in deeper to whisper sweetly in his ear. "You're supposed to hug me back. Do it, you'll feel better."Fugo did feel a little warmer for a few seconds, winding his arms tightly round your back, but your weight got heavier on his shoulder, falling into him as if you'd collapsed! Blood running cold, he pulled back to examine your face and almost screamed. Letting go, the person in front of him grinned, pressing a finger to his lips.
"Don't be frightened, it's just her Stand." Taken aback, Fugo tried to process the situation. How the fuck was Bruno Bucciarati in front of him, and where was Y/N! "I don't think she can control it, it seems triggered by closeness."
"Bucciarati... I'm so, so sorry for abandoning you when you needed me most, I-" Tears got in the way, straining his voice. Even beyond the grave, his superior looked beautiful beneath the black locks framing his face and thickly lashed eyes. "I was selfish. You took me and I-!"
"Fugo. I understand. It's alright." Tears rolled down his face, blurring his vision. Through all the upset, the destruction and his inevitable demise, Bucciarati still smiled. Taking his hands, Fugo noticed that they were the same as yours. Though creepy, it seemed that your body was being used like a host. "I forgive you. But you must listen, I haven't got much longer. Y/N's powers mustn't be very strong yet." The spirit Bruno got up from the stone seat, standing tall in Fugo's widened gaze. "Do what is right. Giorno might be the boss, but he's still got a long way to go if he's going to halt the drug trade in Italy." His sentence was interrupted. He couldn't disappear yet! There was still so much to say!
"Bucciarati, don't go! I can't-!"
"Fugo," he called, beginning to fade out a little. Unfortunately, Bruno couldn't get anymore in before his spirit was called back, leaving your body. Falling forward, you fainted into strong arms, waking up in a buzz of confusion.
"Oh my God, did I faint? I thought I heard a man's voice."
"A man's voice, saying what?"
"I thought I heard someone say... Don Giorno. Whatever that means."
Composing himself, he vowed to make a new life in Bucciarati's memory. It's what he would have wanted, of course. If your Stand could contact the dead, there was so much benefit to the world. You could solve crimes, offer closure to others and all sorts of other cool stuff.
"Y/N, I've made up my mind." Holding your head, your eyes met. He grabbed you by the wrist and led you away from the park, all the way to a ristorante that looked far too fancy for you to be dining in.
"What are we doing here?"
"We're quitting that job."
"Did I fall asleep in the park? I'm not that tired!"
"If you haven't done something in a long time, you look for a book to refresh your memory, right?" Arching your brows, you didn't follow. Was this his lame attempt at trying to sweet talk you or something? "Well, I've been out of the game for a long time, which is why I was working that shitty library job. All this time, I thought I was looking for someone to refresh my memory, since I lost my capo. You have to understand, he made my life worth living, I didn't do anything unless he ordered me to."
"What has that got to do with me blacking out in the park?"
"You refreshed my memory, and now you're going to be a part of it."Though you didn't completely get it, after that day in the Libeccio you learned about stands and discovered you had one yourself. You never learned what happened that day in the park, but you could only assume that somebody special paid Fugo a visit and proved that even when you don't take the correct path in life, things will always still fall into place.
