you could never fathom the pain inside a smile a smile that's plastered with glue a smile that tastes like bile i could swear i've been like this forever so fake so useless that this smile aids my social skills as i act happy while emotionless yet it is you who sees the truth when my smile starts to falter when the lines on my cheeks disappear and you hold on to me like shelter your hands know the reality your eyes now know i'm slowly dying inside yet you refuse to let me go.
