i don't mind spending time
laying on the ground
i don't mind that i find
my mind wandering around
but when you sit close to me
and lay your head on my shoulder
wings flutter out my back
making me feel stronger
i dont want to go back
to where sadness was my companion
i want to stay here
soaring around with my champion
i feel the wind tickle my cheeks
i feel your arms holding me tightly
as i wrap my wings around you
and the night sky sneaks in quietly
you're the strength in me
you're the reason my wings make our journey
thank you for blessing the sky and ground
with the heart of gold you provided me
i might leave very soon
i may leave your side
but remember to always look up
because you know how much i love to fly
