I managed to understand what my best friend Danny "Speedy" Rodgers calls "highly sophisticated, Harvard nonsense". I'll give it to him, calculus is kinda hard, but things just naturally make sense to me, which might be the reason why I'm the only junior in an all senior class. Granted he is on the dumb end of the spectrum, but he's been my pal since the third grade, so I try to keep things dumbed down for him. Plus, we don't have any classes together or the same teachers, so our classes are never really a topic for conversation.

Speedy is what I'd call a ladies man. He could have any chick in the entire county if he wanted, that's how good lookin he thinks he is. I let him think that just so he'll sit quietly when I show him a demo of a new song I write and record all on my own. I'm proud of that. Dad on the other hand, isn't because he wants me to work and be successful, but never write my own song. All he has ever wanted to was for me to sing because he gets any amount of money I make, since he signed a contract I never wanted to be a part of in the first place. I hate singing, but everyone has said that I'm a great singer, and I've heard a few claim that I sound like a young Frank Sinatra, middle-aged Elvis Presley hybrid.
