Amanda's P.O.V

Hi y'all! Names Amanda Walker. I'm 16, almost 17. I'm Madds best friend, and I have THE biggest crush on that hottie, Clark Thompson. He's so dreamy... wait a minute... why am I talking about him? This is my introduction. Anyway, I've been trying to get Madds to talk to people, but her home life is the worst you can imagine. Her dad beats her almost daily, and I get texts from her just about every night wanting to know if she could sleep over for the night and let her dad sober up a bit... That rarely happens though. He always seems to be drunk. I'm glad my parents don't do that. Sure they'll have a drink once in a while, but never to the point where they get drunk. My parents both have stable jobs as assistants to separate companies, and they've given me just about everything I want, since I'm the only child, and I'm their precious princess.

I've been sick with the flu the past week, and I've been needing notes from Madd. I guess I'll get them from her later on today. Oh, and apparently, I've missed something huge. Madd told me via text that her boyfriend is THE Clark Thompson. I've had the biggest crush on him since the fifth grade. I can only be happy for her, and hope that Clark brings the old Maddison back.

I hear voices in the hall, and one sounds just like Maddison's, and the other, I can't quite tell for sure, but it sounds like Clark's. All I hear is, "...I'll always be. I'll talk to you next period, ok?" And Maddison saying, "Alrighty handsome, well talk. See you soon". Whoever that guy is, is very lucky to have Madd talking to them.

Before I can comprehend what has happened, Clark spots me in the hallway, and he asks me how he can make Maddison feel better. All I tell him is, "Write her a love song. That's what she's good at, and you're good at singing, so maybe if you can combine the two, and write your own song that you'll sing to her, that just might do the trick".

I left it at that and went on my way to history, the same class as Maddison, and to make things better, I sit right by her, so she has no chance at hiding her feelings.
