Short chapter, sorry not sorry! I think with this story, I will start having shorter updates so I can update more often. It'll help me keep motivation going for the story.

On a non-wattpad note, I got accepted into 3 out of the 3 graduate schools I applied for! Basically what that means is that I am going to be a broke bish for the next fourteen months lol. If y'all have any ideas of how I can make some money on the side bc I will have twenty hours of internships a week, on top of four other classes that range from 1.5 hours to 3 hours, it'd be much appreciated.

Us broke students have to stand together, right?

How are your 2019's going so far? Better than 2018? Do you think Trump will be beat out or will he take a second term(answer honestly). I hope he doesn't but I don't have a whole lot of faith in the voting process of the US after he was first elected.

Anywayyyyyys back to the story! Love you.

I held Adelaide's hair away from her face as she continued to vomit all of the contents of her stomach into the toilet. The poor thing had been like this for minutes and I had lost track of the amount of times I had flushed it.

Back in the forest, once Adelaide had stopped screaming, had done the only thing her instincts could tell her to do to protect herself. The girl shifted into her wolf and broke into a dead sprint back towards the pack house. I hadn't seen her run that fast before and even after I shifted myself, it took a lot of my energy to chase after her. If the people that did this to those people were still in the forest, the last thing I wanted was for us to be separated.

As we had run back to the property, my Beta and several fighters passed us. I quickly barked orders through the mindlink, telling them to secure the scene and call in the Elders. But also to identify the victims so we can start building a timeline.

I had to attend to my girl first, before anything else.

Someone was standing by the back door to the house when she bolted towards it and shoved it open just in time for her to run through. As I hit the porch, I shifted back.

"Thank you. Tell everyone to go home, please," I told the man, who was a retired fighter for the pack. He just gave me a quick nod and turned to obey while I tried to catch up with my girl.

When I found Adelaide, she was naked on the floor of the bathroom, holding herself over the toilet bowl. As soon as I stepped into the bathroom, she began puking. And that's where we've been for the last few minutes.

It seemed she was running out of things to throw up, but she was still gagging. Tears were pouring down her red cheeks while I stroked her back gently. "I'm sorry," I whispered. "I'm so sorry you had to see that."

"Shower," she gushed suddenly, pushing herself past me to all but jump into the shower cubicle, turning the water way too far towards the "H". Her body visibly flinched as the temperature increased, but she didn't move.

"Don't hurt yourself," I said a little too harshly, reaching my hand under the spray to test the temperature while turning down the heat to a comfortable level.
