" What is 'adorable'? And what are you doing here?" I asked. "Shouldn't you be selling or leading your boys or maintaining your reputation or something?"He laughed and responded.
" A little birdie told me what happened and I came to visit him. I am his, how'd he put it, 'overcomplicated short friend' after all."
"Ok," I responded, deeming that fair, "But you didn't answer my first question. What is 'adorable'?"
This time, I earned a smirk.
"You taking care of him while humming some song. It was a nice song, very clean sounding. What was it?"I felt a flush rise in my cheeks, and ignoring it, chose to answer his question. Realizing what song it was, I answered him, feeling like a giant nerd.
"Well, it's a song from where I come from, from a musical about all of you guys and that strike. The song I was humming was actually your song."
That generated surprise and questions about the musical and my world. I answered all of them, glad someone was so interested in my life who wasn't also slightly out to get me. We chatted for what was probably hours, until we were interrupted by a new voice right beside me, confused and surprised.
"What did I miss?" Race asked, bewildered.
