"Ellie! Where are you?" I heard Sami call as I looked around, dazed. I wasn't in New York anymore; I was home. It had worked! I looked down and saw that the journal had come through with me. Quickly, I tucked it under my blouse and rushed over to Sami.
"You might not believe this, but I just got back from 1899 New York,"I whispered to her. " I have a notebook as proof."

She believed me, and made me promise to show her it after rehearsal.

Every scene that I was in as a newsie made me think about Race and all of the other wonderful people I had met. It must have given me very believable reactions, because the director kept praising me on, despite being in the background, being engaged and authentic in the scenes, following certain moments especially carefully.

The rehearsal ended, and I told Sami everything about my little vacation, right down to Pulitzer's scariness and threats. I even gave her the notes about being Race from Race, including the being almost perfect note.

Finally, I showed her this journal, where she told me to write down a conclusion to my story now that I was home. This is obviously that ending.
