The Teenage Book

My OCs

So, Slugcat has a Q&A book going- go check that out!- (and some more questions for me would rock, by the way ;) ) and I was asking her a bit about her OCs- their names, personalities, etc.

So I thought that, even though I wasn't asked to, I could do something sort of like that. An insight on my Slugterra OCs, and maybe a bit on my newest characters from Hero Academy.

Soooo yeah let's go

First up, Alana! (You're welcome, Leo)

Name: The name for Alana came from the roleplay on a forum where I made Dana. Originally, Alana was Alana Russo, a Wizards of Waverly Place OC. I reused the name for my Slugterra OC. I'm not sure how I came up with the name, but I like it :D As for Alana's last name, well, she doesn't know that quite yet. I've debated a lot on whether or not she'll find out.

Appearance: I use this appearance a LOT for my favorite characters. Caramel colored hair, blue eyes (I may throw in browns and hazels), and in Alana's case, blue highlights in her hair. In case it isn't obvious, I like blue. I just really like that combination ^-^

Age: Alana's 15. I always like to keep characters'- at least my main one/s- ages close to my own, so I can relate to them more and get the story to be realistic.

Personality: Here's where it gets interesting. All my characters are extensions of myself. Every single one. Alana, I feel, relates to me the most. She's had some things happen in her past and she doesn't like to talk about them. (LEO!) She likes to be independent, but has a few close friends and likes to keep it that way. She has a confidence that I long for. Alana's a little sarcastic (haha that's me), and wants to help people. She likes to think and find the best solution to things, and she likes to prioritize and put others' needs before her own. As for romance, she just hasn't found it yet. (As far as The New Shane is concerned.) She is very black and white, believing there's a right and wrong, and not usually a gray, an in-between. She doesn't understand how bad people could do the things they do.

Anything else you guys feel I should include here?

On to Sam Gray!

Name: I made it up. Completely random. At first, she was just some girl Alana met at the formal. Then she came in a little bit more. I literally have no explanation for this one, sorry :D

Appearance: I strayed from my stereotypical blonde, made a brunette. Again, really no explanation. I made her wear purple a lot because I liked the way it looked in my head... Sam is very anticlimactic, as you can see

Age: Finally, some action! I made her 18, because at this point, she was beginning to take after my older sister (who's 18). I wanted a slightly older character, who acted as a bit of a big sister to Alana for a while.

Personality: Sam Gray is what I hope to be when I'm eighteen. Doing the eight thing- tattling on her parents' involvement in Blakk Industries. Maybe not ready to be a leader yet, though- despite older age, she followed orders from Eli and Alana. She's a little cocky, smart, and fun. And rich. I'd like to be rich. :D

Finally, to Dana Blakk!

Name: Dana, as most of you know, was a roleplay character of mine on a forum, the same with Alana Russo. She was actually Alana's best friend, which transferred into The New Shane as well. Now, I named Dana before I saw Inheritance and The Gentleman and the Thief, so I had no clue there was already a Dana. In all honesty, I really just wanted a cool-sounding name that could go for an antagonist, and came up with Dana.

Appearance: This was tough. I wanted a good antagonist look, but didn't want to be terribly stereotypical with it. The brown hair and green eyes easily came from Dana's dad. Her pale complexion, the dark water she got exposed to. And, when her temper has flared in The New Shane, has anyone noticed how her eyes turn red? That'll come in later.

Age: Dana is 16, one year older than Alana. I wanted that to happen to show the Dana feels like she has a seniority, a level of importance over Alana. If that makes sense.

Personality: Dana and I are a lot alike- more than I'd like to admit. Dana's just the side of me that's just angry. I can't give a full explanation as to why I'm so angry, my private life stays private, and not even my closest friends really 'know' me. But Dana's as close to my personality as Alana is, although I hide my Dana side.

Dana's just angry at the world. She has this dark water implanted in her, and even though she chooses to keep it, she's mad at Alana for causing it to happen. She may be an antagonist, but she enjoyed having Alana as a friend, and is feeling angry and betrayed that Alana's fighting against her now. Dana's rich, and has always gotten everything she'd ever wanted. But still, she isn't happy. She's angry. At Alana, at Eli, at herself. I've used the word a lot, I know, but if I could choose one word for Dana, it'd be angry.

Anyways, I imagine Dana being like multiple characters from past shows. One being Master Cyclonis, antagonist of Storm Hawks (oh yeah, creepy girl antagonist, love it). Also, Azula, from Avatar: The Last Airbender- the antagonist's daughter who was scarier than the Fire Lord himself. They're both teenage girls who can and will kick your butt, whether you're on their side or not. (Now I'm thinking of Cyclonis and what she did in the last episode. Dark Ace. Wasn't expecting that.)

Now, on to the main character of my newest original story, Hero Academy. I can't say much without any spoilers, but here you go!

Name: Kylie Alcott. Well, I really don't know how I came up with Kylie. And I feel like there's some story behind Alcott I can't remember... Magenta Sparks, you got anything on Alcott? We've written so many stories, I can't remember the meanings behind all these names.

Appearance: Kylie's supposed to be me, so she has my dirty blonde hair. My eyes aren't 'electric', though. Kylie's gray-blue eyes, however, signify her powers. Her clothed are also simple. She wears her lab coat as an extension of her powers and how she spends her time at the Hero Academy

Age: 15, not much special here :D

Personality: Kylie's got my personality. She is responsible, and feels responsible for things involving her. She's a great super hero, she loves technology, and she's very smart. Kylie's independent and a little closed off, but you'll find that as the Hero Academy school year progresses, she develops more and you get to see more of her personality.
