Normal P.O.V.
The ship had finally reached the new Planet Vegeta. The atmosphere on the ship seemed tense. At least in the back it did. Megan sat by Gohan the whole ride, not even bothering to go look for Vegeta. He probably would have went off on her or told her to get lost. There were a few windows located in the back of the ship, so they could see out into space. “Is that it?” Krillin pointed out the window at an upcoming planet. “Seems like it. Looks almost like Earth, doesn’t it?” Oolong stood on his tip toes to see out the port.
It didn’t take long for the ship to land safely. Once the door had opened to let them out, the natural light of the planet beamed across their faces. It was beautiful what they had seen. A large castle was located a few miles away, surrounded by green grass and a few, what used to be, trees. “Wow. It’s so pretty!” Krillin was the first to speak up as everyone followed behind, taking in the sight. “You could say that again. And the gravity here is the same as it is on Earth.” Gohan jumped down with a smile on his face.
Megan quietly followed the fighters out of the ship, being just as surprised as everyone else at how much everything looks and feels like Earth. Soon, Vegeta and Paragus left the ship and went straight to small hover carts. “If everyone would please step into one, they will take us to your new castle, Vegeta.” Paragus spoke as he motioned to the carts. Of course, Vegeta was lead to the front cart as the rest were stuck in the one behind.
Once everyone was seated and ready to go, the carts took off. Roshi hung off the side of the cart, finally having the effects of alcohol leave his body. “I shouldn’t have drank so much. This is the worst hangover I have-“ Roshi hurled and gagged over the cart as Oolong patted his back with disgust on his face. Trunks, Gohan, and Megan all sat on the opposite of the hungover Roshi. “Does anyone else feel like this is all too good to be true?” She decided to speak up. “Something just isn’t right with this whole thing.”
“I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that.” Trunks spoke as his eyes kept looking straight ahead at his father. “This whole thing seems like a set up.” Gohan nodded in agreement. As the carts flew past the landscape, something caught the young boy's attention. “Do you guys feel that?” Gohan looked to his left at the part of the land that didn’t have as much grass. “It feels like there are a lot of the energies over there.”
Trunks took a note of that. “How about we check into that when we get the chance.” Gohan looked for the land to Trunks. “You think they are hiding something?” Megan leaned back in her seat as she listened to the two boys chat. “I wouldn’t doubt it. I can keep Paragus busy so you guys can go check it out.”
“What are you guys talking about?” Krillin scooted over to the three, trying to get away from the stench of Roshi’s lunch. “When an opportunity comes, we have to take it. We are gonna check out that wasteland over there.” Trunks motioned his head over to the side to show Krillin. “You in?” Gohan asked Krillin, who nodded with determination. “Yeah, I’m in.” Soon the carts came to a stop in front of the large castle. A long line of soldiers stood on both sides of the entrance, bowing their heads to the Prince as he walked by. “Let’s just hope all this doesn’t get to his arrogant head.” Megan spoke softly as she followed behind Trunks to the castle.
“Who is that?” Vegeta stopped with his arms folded in front of a rather large man. “O-Oh this is my son, Broly.” Paragus quickly stood by his son, as Broly bowed his head in respect to the Prince. “Interesting. It’s a good thing your son knows who is in charge around here.” Vegeta spoke with a prideful smirk. Broly quickly scanned the ground of friends behind him. Though they seemed to stay on the female Saiyan of the group. Vegeta turned to follow his eyes and quickly snapped back to Broly, with a sour face. “What are you looking at that for? Don’t waste your time on something so weak. Now,” Vegeta turned to Paragus. “Where should I start looking for this legendary super Saiyan?”
Megan couldn’t believe how rude he was being. Her fists clenched in anger at her sides. ‘That? He referred to me as that?! Who does he think he is?!” She thought to herself. A small, firm hand grasped her wrist. She looked to see Gohan looking up at her, with worry. Megan softened her expression and gave him a small smile. She mouthed the words ‘I’m fine’ to let him know that she had calmed down. He didn’t seem convinced but let go.
Vegeta brushed past them as headed he back to the carts. “Where are you going?!” Trunks called out to his father. “What do you think boy? I didn’t come all the way out here to be kissed up to.” He spoke as turned to look at his son. ‘Could have fooled me.’ Trunks took a few steps closer to his father. “You can’t be thinking of leaving now. You don’t know what they-“ Vegeta had enough. “Shut it boy! I’m the Prince of all Saiyans and I’m not gonna let you tell me what I can and can’t do. Know your place and do what you are told!”
Trunks eyes widen as he took a step back in shock from his fathers outburst. “Broly! Lets go!” Vegeta quickly left with Broly following behind, not wanting to hear anymore about the subject. “If I may,” Paragus spoke up to the rest of the group. “I can show you all the castle.” Megan turned to Paragus, thinking about the offer. “We would love that.” She smiled as she walked over to the other Saiyan. Trunks raised a brow as he cautiously agreed to it. The others followed shortly after.
As they were entering that castle, Megan slowed down enough until she was by Trunks, not at all feeling comfortable being ahead with Paragus. The tanned Saiyan showed them the rooms that they would be sleeping in first. “Boys will stay in this room. The lady will be just down the hall.” Paragus opened the door to show many beds lined up along the walls. “If you don’t mind, we are feeling pretty tired and would like to rest.” Trunks spoke as he stepped a little in the room. “Yeah, we did have someone pretty sick on the way up here.” Krillin pointed with his thumb to Roshi, who looked to be on the verge of passing out.
“I understand. Please, rest if you need it.” Paragus stepped aside to let the rest of the boys inside. “I hope you boys will join us for dinner. I will send someone to get you when dinner is ready.” Trunks nodded as he went to help Roshi inside to a bed. “Thank you, we appreciate it.” Paragus grabbed the knob of the door and began to close it. Megan quickly looked at the boys inside, giving them the go ahead to investigate what they had discussed earlier.
Paragus lead Megan down the hall, with him mostly doing the talking as he showed her each room of the castle. “Souara, why did you decide to come along.” Paragus stopped in the middle of a long hallway. Megan stopped behind him, frankly caught off guard by the question. “Isn’t it obvious?” The tall Saiyan turned to look at her with a smirk. “The Prince of course. You are worried about him. Are you not?” Megan remained silent. He was right but she couldn’t admit it. “What are you getting at?” She snapped to him.
Paragus took a step toward her. “Why do you care so much for the Prince? Is it because he was the only Saiyan left, who just happened to be royalty? Because you know,” He bent down to her eye level with a smile on his face. “My son has still not found his mate. And since you are the last female of our kind, you would have more of a chance with him then you do with the Prince.” Megan took a few steps back, not believing what she was hearing. Was he seriously asking her to mate with his son?!
“First of all, the way I feel about Vegeta has nothing to do with you. Second, I am not an object to be passed around. To anyone.” Paragus stood back up to his full height with is arms folded. “Is that so? If you weren’t an object or meant anything to the Prince, you think he wouldn’t refer to you as ‘that’?” Megan could feel her face heat up from anger. This guy knows nothing about her or Vegeta. “Think about your options. I know my son would love to have a woman of your caliber.” Paragus turned to walk away with a smirk on his face.
Megan stood in the middle of the hallway, dumbfounded. She couldn’t argue with him. Vegeta made it very clearly that he felt nothing for her. Referring as to nothing but an object. She huffed in anger as she turned in the opposite direction, replaying what Paragus had said in her head. But the thought of him making her his son's mate made her stomach churn, especially since it was someone who she has never met before. There was one thing she was sure about, she needed to talk to Vegeta when he got back.
Paragus stood behind the corner of the wall, watching the female Saiyan walk away. He slowly had a smirk come to his face. “Everything is coming together very nicely.”~Time skip to night~
Vegeta P.O.V.
That idiot! He said that THE legendary super Saiyan would be here! Well, I guess he wasn’t entirely wrong. The planet that was supposed to be there was destroyed. I sighed as we finally made it back the new Planet Vegeta. It was night when we returned, but oddly there was no moon. Whatever. “We are here, my Lord.” One of the annoying soldiers informed me. “Open the door.” He wasted no time opening the door for me to leave.
What a waste of a day. As I entered the castle, I noticed Souara sitting on the ledge at least three stories up. She seems to be deep in thought about something. Hmph, who cares what she thinks… I made my way through the castle, not taking long to memorize where everything was. A soldier had mentioned earlier that my room was at the very top.
I made it up another flight of stairs, walking through another endless hallway. I stopped in my tracks, seeing Souara, still in the same position she was in. “What are you doing out here?” She didn’t respond. “Woman, I’m talking to you!” I walked closer to her, feeling a scowl come to my face. How dare she ignore me! “Woman? So now I’m a woman huh? I thought I was an ‘it’ or ‘that’ to you!” She finally looked at me, her dark blue orbs piercing into mine.
“What are you doing out here?” I repeated my question. I didn’t entirely mean what I said earlier, but something inside me didn’t settle right with the way that big brute was looking at her. “Why do you care?” Souara went to stand up from her previous sitting position. “I just,” She started again with a sigh. “I just can’t believe I came all this way out here because I was worried about you.” Worried about me? “You are pathetic. Coming all the way out here because you are worried about me? You are really as weak now as you were back then!”
“How can you be such an ass?! You just cannot except that someone actually cares about you.” Souara took two steps towards me with such anger and hurt in her eyes. “Then why did you leave!?” She stopped looking confused. “That night, you left the castle. Why did you leave?” I had to know. She left without saying why. And it hurt. I’ve been in fights and hurt several times but nothing compared to that night. I had never felt a pain like that before. My chest hurt inside and no healing pod could fix it.
“You wouldn’t understand…” Souara went to turn around to leave, but I needed to know. Everything. My instincts had told me to reach out for her that night, and she slipped through my grasp. My hand grabbed her wrist, causing her to stop. “Tell me!” Souara stayed silent. I could feel myself coming undone. The same feeling I had felt that night started to slowly creep its way back. The stinging in my eyes, the tears wanting to fall but I wasn’t going to let them. She hurt me. She left me. And I needed to know why.
“My father… He hated me.” She didn’t turn to me. General Yakunan was a proud and strong Saiyan. He took such pride when he spoke of his son. But, now that I think about it, he didn’t speak of Souara at all. “I was a nuisance in his eyes. He thought I was a disgrace to our family and race. Mother protected me from him. He…couldn’t care less if I was dead.” I didn’t know this…. I knew everything that happened in the palace. How did I not know?
“Father would encourage my brother to fight me, if I wanted to or not. Neither of them could stand me. When mother died…. I knew what they would do. I had to look out for myself. I was nearly strong enough to fight them off.” My grip on her wrist slowly loosened the more I listened. Everything began to make since. She always wanted to train with me. Anytime she saw me, she wanted to train. But why? Why did she have to smile when we fought?
Souara looked at, tears streaming down her cheeks from her perfect blue eyes… with that same smile I saw so many times before. “I’m sorry Vegeta. I cared for you so much and I didn’t want you to see how weak I was. I wanted to become stronger but leaving there, I knew I couldn’t have.” Her arm went back to her side, my grip completely gone. “I know I hurt you. And I will never forgive myself for it….” She quickly turned around and wiped her face of the tears.
“Goodnight Vegeta…” Souara ran down the hallway, her long brown hair flowing behind her. My hand reached out for her but she was gone. That same feeling came back. Pain and emptiness. I couldn’t chase after her. My pride wouldn’t let me.
How could I have been so stupid! She was suffering and I didn’t pick up on it! I promised to protect her and I didn’t keep my promise. My fist slammed against the wall in frustration. A warm feeling came down my cheek. My gloved finger reached to touch it. A tear. The Prince of all Saiyans shed a tear for someone. Not just someone.Her. The woman I love.
