Normal P.O.V.
Rosie held the infant in her arms as she listened to the fight outside. Luna stood behind her, looking up at the ceiling. Pieces of dust and small particles of ruble fell to the ground with each sound of a pounding fist. Soon, everything went silent. “Do you think it’s over, Aunt Rosie?” Luna looked at her aunt then to her brother, who seemed to be in his own thoughts.
“You two stay here. I'll go check.” Rosie set Mercury in the nearby playpen as she cautiously made her way to the front of the Lookout. Her heart felt like it was beating in her ears the closer she got. Her green orbs peered through the large open doorway to see no one there. No fighting.
Outside, there were five bodies laying on the ground. Rosie made sure that the enemy was gone before she ran out to check everyone. Once it looked clear, her feet carried her to her best friend, laying face down on the ground.
“Megan! Are you okay? Say something!” The blonde shook her friend gently, earning a groan from the Saiyan. Rosie sighed in relief as she rolled the somewhat unconscious girl onto her back. “I thought you were dead! What happened?” Megan pushed herself up with her elbows and held herself up enough to see everyone else. “I’ll explain… later… Check on…them…”
Megan was out of breath as her body landed back on the tile floor. Rosie nodded her head as she made her way to each person, checking to make sure that they were at least alive. Once she had made her rounds, Rosie stood up and called out, “Dende! Mr. PoPo! Help me out here would ya!” The two figures slowly stepped out onto the Lookout. As soon as the fighting had started, Dende and Mr. PoPo had gone deep within the Lookout for safety.
“Oh my, are they alive?” Mr. PoPo stood above Krillin with his hand over his chest. “Yes, but just barely. Help me get them inside, then I’ll see if there are any senzu beans left.” The two beings nodded. One by one, they carefully lifted each person and carried them inside. Krillin and Gohan were placed in the living area side by side as Piccolo was placed onto the couch. Burlock stood next to his uncle as he watched Dende and Mr.PoPo carefully move his parents into their room.
“They are going to be okay, right?” Luna asked her brother as she eyed the teenage boy on the floor. Burlock slowly nodded his head with his arms folded across his chest. “Of course they are. They’re tough and warriors on top of that. They can handle this.” He tried to reassure his sister.
“Burlock! Luna!” Rosie called out to the children as she walked over to them, a small bag in her hand. The kids went silent as the blonde opened the bag. “I only have three beans left.” She dumped the contents of the bag into the palm of her hand. “We are going to have to half them to have enough for everyone.”
Rosie carefully split the three beans into two. “Luna, you give these two to Krillin and Gohan.” She placed the beans into each child’s hand. “Burlock, this one is for Uncle Piccolo and your father.” Rosie held one bean in her hand left. “I’ll take care of your mother. Now, this will probably only heal them enough to wake up and regain half of their energy so don’t push them to get up and do anything, got it?”
The Saiyan children nodded as they went to go do what they were told to do. After the beans were given to the three in the living area, they began to wake up and groggily sit up. Burlock followed Rosie into his parents’ room, where they lay on the bed like they were asleep. Rosie stood beside her friend, helping her chew the bean. Burlock did the same.
The Saiyan parents began to wake up as well. Megan sat up in bed, rubbing her temples as Vegeta swung his legs to the side of the bed while sitting up. “You okay?” Rosie sat down on the edge of the bed while talking to Megan. “Burlock, can you go check on your brother please?” The Saiyan boy stared at his mother until silently agreeing with her request. He stepped outside the door, closing it gently behind him.
Megan sighed as she looked up at the ceiling. “What happened out there?” Rosie looked between the both of them. Vegeta stayed silent, his back still turned towards them. Megan began to explain the battle between her and her brother and everything that happened in between. “…then I went super Saiyan and put an end to it.”
Rosie’s eyes widen in shock. “You did?! I’m so proud of you!” Rosie had a huge grin on her face. Vegeta turned his head slightly to his mate with a proud smirk. “Don’t forget that feeling.” He said as he stood up on his feet, grabbing the head board to help balance himself out. The bean was still taking an effect on his body. Megan smiled softly but it soon went away.
“My brother is still alive though…” The Saiyan woman got up from the bed and stood there. “He knows where we are, and he will come back.” She turned around to look at her mate and friend, who were already facing her. “And he will more than likely come back with a stronger army.” Rosie looked to the ground with a frown. “That is true…”
“We aren’t safe here.” Megan folded her arms. “Let him come back! I can take care of him AND that army of his.” Vegeta crossed his arms. “Oh, really? Because I do believe that you were knocked out just like the rest of us.” Megan snapped back at him with her hands placed firmly on her hips.
Vegeta furrowed his eyebrows at her. “I would’ve taken care of them all if those weaklings didn’t get in my way.” Megan shook her head. “Right now, it doesn’t matter if you could have handled it or not. They are going to come back.”
“Then we will train harder. Everyday.” Vegeta retorted back to his mate. “We could train everyday, yes, but in the mean time we aren’t safe here.” Megan’s eyes glanced to the ground. “This place is perfectly fine.”
“For us, maybe. But I’m thinking about the kids, Vegeta. For Kami’s sake, we have an infant who can’t defend himself yet! What if Zenaku came back and went after the kids first.” The room went silent for a moment, taking in what she had just said. “We need to find another place to stay, for the kids’ sake.”
“Let’s think about this way,” Rosie spoke up after a long moment of silence. “If you guys do decide to move to another place and train there, what makes you think he won’t find you guys there?”
“And he probably will. But he already knows that we live here.” Megan glanced to her blonde friend. “If we moved, it will take him just a bit longer to find us. That little bit of time we can get stronger and be better prepared to protect ourselves if he decides to attack again.”
Rosie shook her head. “Megan, I really don’t think that is a good idea. Piccolo is here and the more you must protect yourselves. The better off you are.” She looked at Vegeta, hoping that he would at least take her side on this idea. “You are the father of the kids too, Vegeta. What do you think?”
“Whatever she thinks is better for the kids, then we will do it. End of discussion.” Vegeta quickly left the room before being asked anything else. The room went quiet after the Prince left.
“The kids can’t stay up here forever Rosie. Just like we said earlier, I want them to live as much of a normal life as possible. By being up here, they won’t get that.” Megan’s eyes landed on her friend, a heavy feeling pressed down on her chest. “We all love living up in here in the clouds, but it can’t just last forever. Someday we have to get back down to reality.”
Rosie didn’t want to look at her friend. “We made a promise; did you forget that?”
“I haven’t. But things change. I didn’t have three kids to worry about then.” The Saiyan softly spoke. “If I had a choice, I would stay up here and we could live the rest of our lives without a care in the world. But I’m a mother first. My kids come before anybody else.”
The blonde woman kept her eyes to the ground, her mind thinking over every little thing being said to her. “I’m sorry Ro. You know I love you and that will never change. I’m sorry that I’m breaking our promise. Wherever we decide to go, you are always welcome to come stay with us.”
“I know what you are saying,” Rosie finally looked up at her dear friend, tears threatened to spill. “…and you are right. The kid’s safety does come first.”
Megan smiled just a little. “I’m being selfish right now and I know you are just doing what your motherly instincts tell you to do. Just know this,” Rosie pointed a finger at her. “I’m going to come see you every day. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.”
The two hugged each other before pulling away, wiping a few tears on their faces. “Of course. The kids still need their goofy aunt.” Both girls laughed as they began to walk out of the bedroom. “Now, tell me about you and Piccolo.”Edited by reιne
