LUMBERJACKS

Hello hello! Sorry for not uploading the second time yesterday, I had most of the story written out before starting this account. However, do to some complications, ever part of my story has been mixed up, so I'm both deciphering them, and making up parts to replace the ones I am unable to piece together.
Sorry, I am really dumb.😓

An abrupt cracking noise stopped him in his tracks.
Glancing around Jon tried finding the source of the strange noise when finally he heard a loud yell, "TIMBERRRR!"
Upon hearing this the the honey blonde stepped back, just in time for a full grown tree to fall right at his feet.
'Who on earth?!' He questioned himself.
He was given his answer when the heads of Edd, Matt and Tom popped out from the leaves.
He watched dumbfounded as Tom picked pine needles out of his hoodie while Matt pulled leaves out of his hair. "Edd!" The ginger whined, "you said this wouldn't ruin my hair!"
Jon blinked at the three. Part of him wanted to know the reason for this....but then again the other side really didn't.
He stepped over the tree and attempted a quick escape.

"Hey Jon!" Jon froze and sighed. Why couldn't he just be invisible?
He turned around and cracked a goofy half smile.
"Hi," he waved.
Edd threw an axe over his shoulder and Jon's lips thinned.
"What are you guys doing?"
"We're lumberjacks for the day," Edd answered simply, smiling proudly at his explanation.
"Oh ok...have fun?" Jon made a move to turn again.
"Are you feeling better? We thought you were dead for a while."
Jon stopped again and turned his head.
"Yes, I'm fine." He stated awkwardly.
"thankYOU!" Another tree fell just two inches in front of him, making him jump back and scream.
"HAH! Take that cheater tree!" Tom's voice rang out over the sound of a chainsaw.
Jon gulped and inched father away. When had Tom gotten up there so quickly?
Not only that, but he was very worried as to why the tree was wearing a tux. He didn't even want to ask about how the tree was a cheater.

"Are you okay?"
Jon was brought out of his thoughts when a hand outstretched to him.
He glanced up at the person it belonged to, Edd.
"Yeah...I'm fine."
There was stretch of silence while Jon tried to process why Edd' s hand was out before he realized it was to help him up.
"Oh! Sorry!" Jon grabbed the hand and was immediately hoisted up.
"Thankyou."
Edd nodded, "so why are you out here?"
Jon shrugged, "well Eduardo has guest... And he seemed a bit...territorial." Jon grimaced at his own words.
"So I just went out for walk until they leave."

"Oh...are they still there?" Edd questioned glancing over to his neighbor's house.
"Yeah." Jon answered looking with him.
"Well....you wanna be a lumberjack too? You know...until their gone?"
Jon eyes widened, "...huh...?"
Edd smiled and pulled on Jon's sleeve, "come on, it's fun!"
"I don't know about this...Eduardo...well he's not very fond of you guys...and I think he'd be really upset if I were to-"
"Eduardo's a dick," Tom cut in, wanting to add his two cents as he turned of the chainsaw.
"Who gives a shit what he thinks?"
Jon slouched slightly, 'apparently I do..."
"I guess you guys are right...."

Jon was led over to a mature pine tree.
"Ok," Edd handed him the axe, "all you got to do is chop it down."
Jon glanced at the axe before lowering it to his side and placing a hand over where the scar was under his shirt.
"I can't...it might rip my stitches..." Jon frowned.
Edd took the Axe away, "that's fine."
He turned to face Matt and Tom who were goofing off with the chainsaw.
"Hey! Can Jon borrow that?"
Tom shrugged and and tossed it over to which both Jon and Edd both got the hell out of dodge.
Edd threw the axe over his shoulder, picked up the saw and handed to Jon.
"Just pull the string to crank it and put the blade part on the tree."
Jon nodded unsurely, but cranked the saw anyway.
Edd excitedly climbed up to the middle of the tree and gave Jon a thumbs up.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Jon shouted up to him over the loud mechanic growling.
"TREE SURFING! IT'S FUN!" Edd yelled back. "CUT AT THE BOTTOM UNTIL IT's ALMOST ALL THE WAY AND THEN CLIMB UP!"
'These people are crazy!"
Nevertheless Jon did as he was told and cut the tree almost all the way, immediately dropping the saw afterward.
Climbing the tree proved to be an obstacle, straining his muscles to pull himself up had hurt his wound. However, with a helping hand from Edd, he was pulled up and able to climb to the top.

There they stood, as the wood began to crack and the tree leant forward.
It was in that moment Jon saw the whole neighborhood and the hills behind it, the beauty of it had him basking. His adrenaline kicked in; he held his breath as they began to fall.
The ground became closer and closer, time slowed. It was almost like a rollercoaster.
Jon was laughing like crazy. He was terrified and over joyed at the same time until finally they hit the ground.
He hadn't realized Edd had pulled him around the tree to hold onto until it was over.

Once on the ground, Jon jumped up. "That was...AMAZING!"
Edd laughed, "you wanna do it again?"
"Of course!" Jon replied excitedly.
Over the course of fifteen minutes Jon had tree surfed with the trio several times. He had been having an absolute blast.

Yet it was only when Eduardo had stepped outside and stomped over that Jon had made eye contact while up in the tree.

It only had taken that glare for Jon to let go of the branch he was hanging onto and slip off as the tree fell.
