you never understood why he was so against using his powers. you thought they were amazing, a gift even to do the unspeakable.

no matter how hard you pressed he would give you the same soft smile as he blushed to himself.

" Maybe next time (y/n)-chan "

you loved him.

so you never bothered to question him again.

your relationship grew into something more after some time. you noticed him staring at you at moments and you noticed you staring back. the sweet silence and awkwardness between you both was something to cherish. it'll be your first of many moments throughout your middle school years. and you needed to hold that dear to you.

whenever you see him in the distance a smile forms on your young face. without waiting you throw yourself at him, despite his social awkwardness everytime you do so. the cherry laced tone in your child like voice resonates through him as you call him by his name.

" Mob! "

he's grateful that you're in his life.

you both walk to school, hand in hand just like every other day. but today was slightly different. you didn't say anything when you noticed him checking his surroundings more than usual. you needed to stay oblivious and not make him worry. its the last thing you want to do.

your lips curl in a wavering smile and he returns it half-heartedly. something is wrong. he can't figure it out and neither can you. all you do is follow behind as he begins to walk faster. he jokingly says to run, that they'll miss the spirits morning dance at the school gate. you blindly follow, giving him your trust as you squeeze his warm hand.

your mask is slipping.

" If we hurry we can catch the morning spirits before the bell! "

a little bit of panick is hidden in his voice. you dont say anything. you can't. you're getting too scared of the unknown. mob is suppose to know these things- why cant he tell whats out there? who's coming to get him? to get you? how long do you trust him for? he's suppose to be the best right? the strongest boy there is-

the hand you were holding is no longer there.

his eyes are wide and so are yours. he's reaching for you but you're flying too high, too fast. you think to yourself that his face is looking so scary in slow motion. you think, maybe i should of told him i loved him today if this was how it'll end.

he's coming for you but he's too slow.

he can't stop your fall.

the fist of a blind man interrupts him.

you're falling too fast to catch. his expression is breaking, corrupting into something indescribable.

sadness. guilt. anger. shame.

soon, he'll reach 100%

and you won't be able to see why he's so against his powers.
