you both made a promise to each other. A promise you swore on your life to never break. With your cheeks flushing, burning bright with passion you declare all your love to never forget. To always be by his side as a devoted believer of his name. The smile on your face made his ocean eyes crash like dancing storm.

You were 8.

You went around with the thought of him floating in the back of your head. imagining those beautiful eyes gazing back at your own. you smile to yourself, as you thought of what to do once you met him again. Planning to surprise him with a gift, something he has always wanted. As you get ready to decorate and name the gift, his name is absent from your mind. you pause. panicking silently to yourself as you push yourself to remember his name.

You were 15.

You've reached adulthood now and you float about with a sense of loss in your chest, the feeling that you're forgetting something is lingering inside of you and you become more and more depressed as time creeps along. you try to remember for your sake, a fuzzy haze of black and blue. a boy with no face nor name vaguely intrudes in your head and you fall. fall into despair as you realize you had broken a promise you swore you wouldn't ever break. he no longer lives in your head as your eyes dim into a deep fog.

You were 25 when you became another human who had forgotten him.
