Dianne's POV
"Well, er, I was wondering..."
I hang onto his words. What does he want to ask? I get butterflies in my stomach. Stop it Dianne. He probably just wants to ask if he can borrow my homework. Which I should probably do thinking about it.
"What Joe?" I ask.
"Er, well, recently, I've um," Joe continues, and he starts to go red. Surely all this can't just be about a piece of homework? Besides, he would've probably already stolen Byron's or Conor's already. "I've er been getting these, er..." These what? "Feelings for er," Come on Joe! I want to know! "You."
It's an amazing feeling. It's like I'm walking on air. He's had feelings for me. Joseph Sugg has had feelings for me. It's amazing.
"So I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me? If not that's totally fine it was just a thought I just er wondered because well I've never felt like this before."
His words are rushed and it's so sweet.
"Course I'd want to go out with you," I say. Instantly his face lights up.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Wow," Joe says, running his hand through his hair. "Wow. I've done something right for once."
I laugh. I go on my tiptoes and kiss his forehead gently. He grins. When I first started this school I never could imagine that this is what it would come to. I'd have such amazing friends and now an incredible boyfriend.
"Oo!"
I turn around and see Caspar, Oli, Jack, Anna, Conor, Byron and Josh still waiting there, all smirking.
"It's a good job we waited! Wouldn't have wanted to miss this!" Josh shouts, the lot of them running over to us.
"So Mr Sugg has a girlfriend now apparently," Conor says.
"Well er we didn't explicitly say..." Joe starts.
"Boyfriend girlfriend, going out, same thing," Jack says. "So, you know what we need now?"
"Chocolate?" Caspar asks.
"Yes, but what else?" Jack continues.
"A ship name!" Oli exclaims.
"I like your thinking Mr White," Jack says.
"What's with all the Mr something?" Anna says. I laugh. I love how that's what the boys think of first. Well, after chocolate, but priorities right?
"I can say what I want!" Jack defends. "Right, so, back to ship name. Thoughts?"
"D..." Byron says. "J..."
"Helpful," Jack says. I notice that me and Joe have just been standing here for majority of this time without speaking. I look up at him, smiling. And the way he looks back down at me is enough to make any girl happy.
"Aw," Anna says, breaking her barrier of always being the stubborn and feisty one.
Joe's POV
I look back down at Dianne, smiling fondly at the girl. I don't know how I lived so long without her. She's just so perfect.
"Actually now can we decide on a ship name?" Jack asks.
"Do it yourself," Conor says.
"Thanks for the help," Jack says, and he starts to think, which is rare as Jack never puts his brain towards anything. "Right, so thanks to no one but myself, I've got something."
"What then?" Dianne asks.
"Joanne," Jack says. "Get it, Joe, Dianne, Joanne."
"Yeah we get it," I laugh. "I like it."
"Yeah, Joanne, it's nice," Dianne agrees.
"Right, as nice as this is, I need to get home," Byron laughs. We start to walk out of the park and I grab hold of Dianne's hand.
"Aw, cuties," Conor says, and then I have to say goodbye to Dianne and head home by myself.
I walk the last couple of minutes then fathom around in my blazer for my keys and unlock the door. Mum and Zoe are home and instantly Zoe runs over to me.
"So I got a text from Jack," she starts.
"Oh no," I say.
"You've got a girlfriend!"
"Joe's got a what now?" Mum says, coming over. I then proceed to explain everything, telling them who Dianne is and how she lived in Australia before.
"She sounds amazing! You must invite her over!" Zoe decides. By the end of the evening, it's decided that Dianne will come over after school tomorrow and then she can get to know my family. Zoe has not stopped talking about it, and I never see her this hyper it's weird.
But I'm still so happy. Everything's worked out perfectly.
