It's Saturday afternoon, only less than 24 hours after my date with Kohl and I am still on cloud nine about the whole thing. I didn't think I could be falling for someone so fast.
My parents are currently away visiting grandma while I stayed home to clean up the place and catch up on some homework. As I danced around to the music playing in the background wiping down the kitchen table my phone rings. Looking over I see its Kohl calling me. Just looking at his name had my stomach in a frenzy.
"Hey" I said chirpy. Dammit. Play it cool!
"Hey you." His raspy voice had my heart racing. "Question."
"Answer."
"Are your parents home?"
"Um... no why what's up?" Just then the doorbell rings.
"Open up firecracker!" Paul's voice can be heard from the other side of my front door. I chuckled while opening the door. Everyone was waiting at my door, even Jake.
"Sorry about that. Jake didn't want to come over unless your parents weren't home. He said it would be weird?" Tiffany explained confused with her boyfriend's reasoning.
"I wonder why." I say why sending daggers towards Jake. "So what's with the random visit."
"We are going out tonight!" Paul shouted excitedly.
"This new LGBTQ club opened up and we thought we'd go check it out for Sam for moral support" Kohl said. Sam laughed nervously while rubbing the back of her neck and slight blush crept on her cheeks.
"That sounds so cool. I'd love to go. But-" I stopped.
"But what?" Kohl asked.
"I don't think I have anything to wear for something like that." I awkwardly mentioned.
"You know what that means..." Tiffany said while an evil smile slowly grew on her face. "SHOPPING!!" She squealed. Her scream had us all cover our ears.
With that I went upstairs to get changed before we headed out to the mall. Since it was Sam's night we spent the first half hour looking for the perfect outfit for her to wear. She decided on a flannel that had the mixtures of white, grey and black. Which she paired with a grey long sleeve sweater to put over it. The guys thought to add to her look she should also wear this nice plain gold chain they found and it was the cherry on top to complete her outfit. Now that she was settled, Sam teamed up with Tiffany to help find me an outfit. Kohl, Jake and Paul left to the arcade that was on the second floor of the mall to pass the time.
"Ivy go try this on!" Tiffany shoved a dress in my hand then pushed me into the changing rooms.
Not even getting a chance to see the piece of material I head into the little changing room and strip out of my clothes. After putting on the dress I wasn't completely sure about it. I felt like I looked fat and weird in the dress. It was simple black dress that reached mid thighs with thin spaghetti straps and a slit on the left side.
"Ivvvvyyy! Come out! I want to see!" Tiff whined on the other side of the door.
"I don't know Tiff, I'm not really feeling this." I told her.
"Why don't you come out and we'll tell you if it's a bad idea?" Sam suggested. Sighing I decided to let them see. Opening the door I step out and give them a simple twirl. They are standing there with blank almost shocked expressions.
"I told you it was bad." I mumbled.
"I swear if you weren't straight I'd totally kiss you right now." Sam said seriously. Her comment had me blushing.
