Bradford High School can be described as a free spirited school where they allow the students to express themselves in anyway possible. When I entered the school I first thing I noticed was graffiti art all over the walls. It was honestly incredible that I got so sucked into the colors and swirls. There was a bay window where a girl was practicing the violin as if the noise from the other students walking around didn't phase her. It was like I slipped into a cliché movie.

Being my first day I made my way to the front office where I was given my class schedule, locker combination, and a list of textbooks which I was suppose to pick up from the library. After picking up my books I made my way towards my locker to put them away before heading to my first class, algebra.

No one ever likes being the new kid. The new kid always gets put on the spot in front of every class where they are asked to introduce themselves and say a fun fact. But what makes my experience a bit different from the rest was the fact that when I reached my last class of the day and this old man, Mr. Ginner, called me out on my outfit of choice.

"Young lady! This school has a strict dress code and just because this is your first day does not mean you can go about flaunting your behind for the world to see."

I had chosen to wear a hoodie, which was twice my size since I took it from my older brother, with a pair of shorts. The hoodie of course covered the shorts making it seem as though I was only wearing that and nothing underneath. Lifting the hoodie to reveal the shorts I told Mr. Ginner, "Sir I understand there is a dress code. Which is why I am clearly wearing pants. So do not worry my behind is very much covered. Sorry boys." I winked at the guys who have been looking at my smooth legs the second I walked in the door.

"Hmph. Very well. Take your seat miss." Mr. Ginner grumbled.

Making my way towards to back of the class that held the only seat available.

"That was pretty funny." said the girl next to me. Well not your typical girl. She had more of a very short hair cut that resembled Louis Tomilson from One Direction and a plaid button up and khaki pants.

"Thanks" I smiled back at her,

"My names Samantha, but I prefer Sam." She stuck out her hand which I grasped to complete the handshake.

"Ivy. Is he always like that?" I whispered as Mr. Ginner shot me a stern look then continued with his lesson.

"Sadly, yes. But you'll get use to him."

The rest of the class we spent whispering back and forth exchanging information about each other. I learned that Sam is actually in transition to becoming a male which I was intrigued to learn about. She had mentioned that her whole life she didn't fit in with the other girls in her classes as a kid but more with the guys. Then in 8th grade in a twisted game of spin the bottle when she had to kiss her best friend Stacy she knew that she was into girls. Since then she embrased her actual identity which she believed to be a guy trapped in a girls body. I found her story so heart warming and encouraging that she was able to express herself in her true form.

The bell rang signaling the end of the day. Sam gave me her Instagram handle before rushing off to meet with her friends.

I took a trip to my locker to grab the books I would need to do the load of homework I got in order to catch up on what I have missed. Putting on my shades and pulling my hoodie over my head I made my way towards the front lobby area of the school to wait for my mom to pick me up. Pulling out my phone I search for Sam's Instagram account.

From the corner of my eye I can see a group of guys pointing and staring at me. One of them whistled at me so I turned to the side facing down the hall rather than the front doors.

"Aw come on girl! You don't have to be shy." Called out one of the guys. I rolled my eyes so hard it felt as though they were going to get stuck in the back of my head. The sound of a deep chuckle made me look up from my phone. Behold. God's greatest creation on earth was standing right in front of me.

"Never thought it was possible to see someone actually role their eyes behind sunglasses." He smiled revealing perfect pearly white teeth. "I see you've met my friend." He points to the group of guys behind me.

"You have an odd choice of friends. I don't know about you but I'm not keen on being cat-called." Crossing my arms for emphasizes. He looks at his friends then he looks back at me. A sly smirk slips onto his lips.

"I'm going to guess that you're new around here. But let me help you out. Do you trust me?" Raising an eyebrow at the stranger I pull down my shades revealing my sharp green eyes curious as to what he is planning.

"Sure why not."

He leans in close to my face as though he was going to kiss me. My eyes widen at the thought until I realized his plan. My hoodie is so big that it covers my face and enough of his so that from the eyes of anyone around us it actually looked like he was kissing me. After what seemed like a good enough time he leans back with a satisfied grin on his face. Groans from the guys behind us indicated that it worked.

"Now everyone will know you're with me."

"My hero!" I fake swoon while laying a hand to my heart. He laughs at my performance.

"Let me give you my number. You know in case you need any more saving." I roll my eyes, yet smile at his attempt. I reached for my phone in my pocked, but he stopped me.

"You got a pen?"

I reach into my bookbag for a pen wondering what other plan is crawling through that head of his. I hand it over and he tilts my chin to the side exposing my right ear. He begins to write something behind my ear and the side of my neck.

"Don't look at it till you get home. I'll see you around..." He drags on hinting that he doesn't know my name."

"Ivy."

"Nice to meet you Ivy. The names Kohl." He lifts my chin and pecks my cheek. "I'll see you later."
