It's Thanksgiving day and I couldn't be any happier. Mom had us helping out now and then in the kitchen when she needed it. I had stepped out to use the bathroom and when I came up the sight in front of me had tears forming.

Cody was trying to sneak a piece of turkey while mom wasn't looking. Mom accidently smeared chocolate on dad's cheek which was suppose to be for the cake we were having for dessert. Dad had grabbed mom and tried to rub the chocolate onto her while Cody joined in to help dad. This was my family. It hurts that I almost lost them. I didn't realize how long I was standing there watching them till I chocked out a sob catching everyone's attention.

"What's wrong honey?" Mom rushed over worried. She began wiping my tears away as I sadly laughed at myself for crying.

"Nothing nothing. It's just- I'm just happy to be here is all." I give her a half smile.

Dad and Cody had come joined us and it had lead to a family group hug.

"Can we eat now?" Cody groaned. We laughed at his childlike response. We broke the hug and began setting the table and bring the food over to eat.

The dinner was AMAZING! Man does mom know how to cook. I feel like a hippo on how full I am. I wobbled up the stairs to my room ready to slip into a food coma.

It was Sunday night, Cody's last night with us before he leaves tomorrow morning back to school. I am actually sad to see him leave. We were in my room playing UNO when Cody broke the silence.

"Ivy I have to ask. How did Jake end up at your new school?" Cody looked at me seriously.

"Honestly I don't know Cody. All I know is when everything went down at Middleton he was expelled from the school. So I assumed he had to go to a new school. What are the odds that mom and dad transferred me to his new school." I shrugged while placing down a draw two card. He pouted while taking two cards from the deck.

"But why keep it a secret from mom and dad? Like is there a goal or plan or something?" He puts down another card.

"At first I wasn't sure. But after spending a few months with them and making Jake sweat a bit." We both chuckle at this. "I feel like this is more of a test for me, ya know? Like to figure out if I really am better after leaving the center."

"But what about Jake?"

"I don't want to get revenge or something cause that just means I stooped to his level. I'm not going to let him effect me again I'm stronger than that. I don't know what specifically is the plan or if there is even a plan. But I want to take it day by day to also let Jake realize what he did is messed up and shouldn't happen to anyone else again."

Cody just nodded his head not questioning any further. We continued the game until Cody decided to go take a shower. My phone rings. It's a FaceTime call from Kohl.

"Hey you." I answer the phone.

"Hey, how was Thanksgiving?" His cute smile had butterflies swarm in my belly.

"It was good. But don't be surprised when you see Monday weighing like 200 pounds from all the food I ate." He laughed.

"I'm pretty sure you'll still look beautiful regardless." I smile feeling the heat rise to my face. I turn my head so he can't see, but his soft chuckle just proves he did.

"Umm. So-uh how was your Thanksgiving?" Trying to take the attention away from me.

"It was great. My mom made all my favorite dishes. I didn't think I can eat so much in my life." He laughs while falling back on to what looks like his bed.

"Well at least you enjoyed it." I smile at him.

"Ivy I wanted to ask you something. About Cody."

"What about Cody?" I scrunch my eyebrows. Kohl sits up getting serious.

"Why did he get so mad about Jake?" I sighed.

"I told you, me and Jake go way back. My brother is not his biggest fan."

"But-"

"Just drop it." I interrupted. "Please."

"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow?" Giving me a half smile.

"Yea, see ya."
