🌼Y/N'S POV

As soon as classes ended, I bolted out of school and headed straight to my part-time job. I knocked on the door, and DG's voice came from inside.

"Come in," he said casually.

I stepped into the room and dropped my bag onto the chair where I was supposed to sit and guard him. Honestly, it's boring as hell just sitting there all day, so I pulled out my notes and started studying to kill time. But it didn't take long before I noticed DG's stare burning holes through me. At first, I tried to brush it off, but after a few minutes of him just watching, it got really hard to concentrate. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, my skin crawling with the awkwardness. Finally, I slammed my notes down on my lap and let out an annoyed sigh.

"If you've got something to say, just spit it out. Don't just sit there and stare—it's creepy as hell."

DG straightened up, adjusting his posture like he was about to drop some serious news. He let out a long exhale, which only made me more nervous. Was he about to rip into me? Did I mess something up? I could feel the anxiety creeping in, and I mentally retraced every single thing I did last night.

"Are you the one who finished my papers?" he asked, his voice calm but serious.

I swallowed hard. "Yeah... Why?"

He paused for a moment, dragging it out like he was trying to make me sweat. I stayed perfectly still, my heart racing, waiting for the bomb to drop.

"You..." He paused again—damn it, man, just say it!

"You did a good job."

I let out a breath I didn't realize I'd been holding, relief washing over me. My body slumped as all the tension drained out. He picked up the stack of papers from his desk and looked over them carefully.

"For a high school kid, you've got some serious skills. Makes me wonder how you even know how to handle this stuff," he added, glancing at me with genuine curiosity.

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I just watched you work yesterday." I regretted the lie the second it left my mouth, but to my surprise, he seemed impressed. I fought the urge to laugh. Did he really believe I just picked it up from watching him for one day? Guess I'm a natural, huh?

"I don't actually need a bodyguard all the time," DG said, leaning back in his chair, "but I could use a secretary. What do you say?"

I immediately shook my head. "Whoa, whoa, hold up, amigo. I didn't sign up for that. Being a bodyguard is already a pain, and now you want me to do paperwork, too? That's double the workload!"

He gave me a sly smile. "I'll give you whatever you want. Just be my secretary."

"Whatever I want?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yup. Name it."

I thought for a second, then smirked. "More time to just be a dumb high school kid."

He tapped his chin, pretending to consider my request. "Hmm..."

"You think you can make that happen?" I asked, half-joking, but also kinda serious.

"Do you hate this job?" DG asked suddenly, his tone shifting. "Or do you just hate working with someone like me?' The unexpected question caught me off guard. I scratched the back of my neck, trying to figure out how to word my answer without offending him.

"I don't hate you. Honestly, you're pretty cool. Anyone would be lucky to work with you. It's just..." I trailed off.

"It's just?" He leaned forward, waiting.
