Chapter 20: Sho and Simon

(Y/n)'s POV

     As Erza explained the story of The Tower of Heaven, I felt my rage shift from her to who ever this Jellal guy was.

Juvia: why would Jellal want to resurrect Zeref?

Erza: I don't understand his motives either. however, my old friend Sho said something to me about Zeref getting them into heaven and when that happens the world will be reborn and they will become it's rulers.

(Y/n): now I wanna kick their asses even more.

Lucy: ok, there's 1 thing that confuses me about these people who claim to be old friends of yours. Why are they accusing you of betraying them, don't them realise Jellal's the bad guy here?

Erza: it's not their fault, I'm sure he fed them all sorts of like about me once I left. That doesn't change the fact that I abandoned them so long ago. In the end I guess you could say I did betray them.

Lucy: cause he threatened to kill them if you ever came back, you couldn't have saved them.

Erza: none of that matters anymore. If I can defeat Jellal then it will all be over, leave it to me, ok?

???: Sister, that's not true.

I turned and saw a boy with tanned skin, blonde hair, and what looked like a tattoo on his chin.

???: Why? Why are you lying to them?

Erza: Sho.

Sho: you think by making yourself the martyr you're gonna get sympathy from your friends. Tell them the truth, that's not how it happened and you know it. You blew up the boats we we're gonna use escape and then you left. We would've ended up at the bottom of the sea if it hadn't been for Jellal, he saved us. He warned us not to trust wizards like you who haven't learned to use their magic properly. He said that you had become drunk with magic power and you didn't want anything to do with your past or the people you left behind.

I rushed over to him and grabbed him by the throat, lifting him up into the air.

(Y/n): you should know, I can kill you I 17 different ways, and I can make it as painful as I want, so you better watch what you say.

Sho: l-let me go you mindless brute! Jellal told us that wizards like you we're nothing but trouble and only cared about destroying those beneath them.

(Y/n): I warned you.

I grabbed my sword out of my scabbard and pointed the blade directly at his heart

Erza: (y/n)!

I turned to her and saw pleading expression on her face.

Erza: please...let him go.

I released my grip around his neck and he fell to the floor.

(Y/n): fine.

I walked back over to the table and took a seat.

Grey: did you ever think he might be lying.

Lucy: if you truly knew Erza, you'd know she'd never do something so horrible.

Sho: you only THINK you know her, you weren't there back then, you don't know anything about us. After you left Jellal's words my only salvation and that's why I spent all these years working to finish the tower for him. I DID IT FOR HIS SAKE! Now your trying to tell me it was all a lie?

(Y/n): pretty much.

Sho: YOU REALLY EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE YOU'RE TELLING THE TRUTH AND JELLAL'S BEEN LYING TO US THIS WHOLE TIME?!

???: That's right.

A large man with a metal mask and an eye patch suddenly appeared behind us.

Grey: why you-

Juvia: wait, he doesn't pose a threat, my dear. He ment you no harm, at the resort he knew he was attacking your ice decoy.

Grey: but how?

Juvia: since it was he who casted the darkness spell, it had no effect on him. I came along in the hopes of discovering why he'd chosen to spare you.

???: I'd expect no less then a member of Phantom's element 4.

Sho: I don't understand.

???: I had to fool you and the others into thinking I'd killed him, but I'd hoped our attack would lure them here.

Sho: so you were lying too, how could you do that to me?

He walked over and placed his hand on Sho's shoulder.

???: I'm sorry, Jellal had you under his spell and I couldn't convince you otherwise, so I played along until the time was right.

Erza: so you knew all along.

???: I've always believed in you, Erza, and there's nothing that can change that.

Erza smiled.

???: I mean those words from the bottom of my heart.

They hugged.

Erza: Simon.

(Y/n): so that's his name.

Sho: I never knew. I can't believe I blindly followed him all these years, I doubted you...cause you left me all alone. YOU HAVE KNOW IDEA HOW MUCH THAT HURT!

Sho dropped to his knees and began sobbing. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid, not because he was crying, but because I could only imagine what he's been through, and I felt kinda bad for threatening him earlier.

Sho: I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHICH ONE OF YOU I SHOULD BELIEVE ANYMORE!

Erza knelt down in front of him.

Erza: I know it must be difficult to take all of this in at once, but Sho, there's something that you should know. Though it's been many years, I've never once forgotten about any of you.

Sho and Erza hug and it looks like he's on our side.

Erza: I'm sorry I couldn't stand up to him, but I was so weak back then. Please forgive me.

Simon: now you're stronger and ready to face him, isn't that right?

She nodded.

Simon: I've been waiting all these years for this very moment, when a group of powerful wizards would gather here.

(Y/n): so are you gonna fill us in on whatever you have planned or what?

Simon: we're going to take down Jellal, we can do it if we work together, but first, we need to stop Salamander and Wally from clashing.

(Y/n): yeah, when Natsu sets a target, he won't stop until he catches them.

Simon: of course you would know, you're a dragonslayer just like him, right?

I nodded and got up from my seat.

(Y/n): he went off to find our friends that Millianna kidnapped.

Simon: well, dragonslayers are known to have a keen sense of smell, so why don't you lead the way.

(Y/n): sure, but I have something to do first.

I walked over to Sho, who was still on his knees, and reach out my hand to help him up. He hesitated. I couldn't blame him, I would've killed him if Erza hadn't stopped me. Sho took my hand and I helped him to his feet.

(Y/n): *sigh* look, I'm sorry for earlier, I was really on edge. So I hope you'll forgive me for my actions and help us.

Sho: f-fine, but I want you to know that I don't trust you 1 bit.

(Y/n): feelings are mutual. Now let's get going.

I sniffed the air until I picked up Natsu's scent.

(Y/n): I found him. Come on.

They all ran behind me as I followed Natsu's scent to where ever the hell he went.
