A/N: Okay, I know their personalities are different from the book, but this is an AU (alternate universe) and I will try to make it more like them.
Leo had successfully made the cupcakes, though, not without burning a few. Nico didn't seem to mind the charred dough, biting into his third one and smiling at Leo. Leo smiled back, then looked at Percy, his eyes saying: We need to talk about serious things without the kid here. Percy nodded, then nodded toward the clock, hoping Leo would get the message. Leo seemed to have gotten it, nodding his head, then walking over to Nico, placing his hand on the smaller boys back. Nico's ears twitched and he looked up, crumbs falling from his mouth. "Nico, I think it's time for you to go to bed." "But..." Nico pressed his ears to his head and widened his eyes, pushing out his lower lip. "Sorry Neeks, but it isn't going to work this time. Besides... Aren't you exhausted?" Nico shook his head, but yawned. "Follow Percy, he'll give you a room to sleep in." Percy lean Nico up the stairs and to his room, then pushed the door open. Nico cralwed onto the bed and slid under the covers, blinking tiredly. "Goodnight, kitten." Percy said and kissed the boys head, then shut the door and walked back downstairs. He sauntered up to where Leo was leaning against a wall and cocked his hip to the side,tilting his head slightly. "So, what is it that you wanted?" Leo pushed himself up and sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "My... My mom... She uh... She came back from Mexico...." His voice cracked and his eyes were glassy. Percy nodded. "So... I guess you'll be leaving in the morning with Nico?" "That's the thing... I... Nico can't come with me..." Percy stared at him, then shook his head. "Wha- Why not?" Percy asked, more harshly than he had meant to. "He... My mom doesn't.... She doesn't let me have people over..." Leo muttered, picking at the hem of his shirt. "Why not?" Percy asked Leo burried his face in his hands. "I don't know. She just... I don't know!" Percy nodded and muttered a small "sorry", then sat down by Leo. "So... I was hoping you could watch Nico?" Leo asked and Percy bit his lip. "Can we talk about this in the morning? With Nico?" Leo sighed, then nodded. "Yeah, I guess... So um... Sleeping arrangements?" Leo asked and Percy nodded. "Right. Um... I was thinking I could sleep on the couch and you could go sleep with Nico?" Leo nodded, then stood up. "Thanks for everything..." Leo said and walked upstairs. Percy sighed, pulled a blanket off a chair, then collapsed on the couch and fell asleep.
Leo pushed Percy's door open slowly, his breath hithcing as he saw someone sitting on the bed. "Nico? Why are you still up?" Nico pointed to his ears. "I heard you talking." "Nico I am so sorry-" "No. It's... It's fine I guess... I just don't want to leave you...." Leo smiled, then ruffled Nico's hair. Nico grinned and flicked his ear, making Leo laugh. "Well, we better go to bed..." Nico nodded and crawled under then blanket, cuddling up to Leo. Leo rested his hand on Nico's head, listening to his soft purring. Leo yawned, then finally fell asleep, the rumbling from Nico's chest calming him.
Nico woke up and blinked sleepily, then shot out of bed when he realized Leo wasnt there. He scrambled out of bed and tripped down the stairs, racing around and frantically looking for Leo. He saw the older boy walk into the room and jumped on him, burrying his face in his neck, tears pricking his eyes. "Nico. Nico, it's okay. I'm not leaving yet. Hey, don't cry." Nico sniffled, looking up at Leo. "Hey. Smile. Come on, smile for Leo. I don't want to remember you crying." Nico pawed at his eyes, then smiled at Leo, his small fangs glittering in the early morning light. "S-sorry..." He muttered, then sighed. "When are you going?" "Um... A few minutes." Nico bit his lip, nodding. "I'll miss you." "I'll miss you too, neeks." Nico smiled weakly, then rested his head on Leo's chest. Leo rubbed his back, then leaned down and kissed his head. "I've gotta go now." Nico nodded, stepping back and watching Leo walk out the door. As soon as the door shut, Nico fell to the floor, whimpering and sobbing. Percy bent down cautiously, resting his hand on Nico's back. "Are you okay?" Nico sat up and rubbed his eyes, then pushed Percy's arm off him and ran up to his room, slamming the door and collapsing onto the bed. He dug his claws into the mattress, then looked over as he saw something shiny. He reached over and stared at it, soon recognizing it as an iPod. He plugged the headphones in then got on the music. He frowned when he didnt recognize any of the songs, then shuffled them all. He stared at the ceiling fan, listing to the words and watching the fan turn. Soon, his eyelids got heavy, and he fell asleep.
A/N: Im sorry it's so shirt and badly written and really late and stuff but I busy with school stuff and I was more depressed than usual, and I was just trying to avoid doing things.... Anyway, I probably won't update for a little while, because my parents are being dicks and not letting me watch the maze runner yet so I'm trying to avoid doing anything but finishing the mortal instruments and just listing to music..... Okay, I swear Leo will still be in it, and I might put the others in. If you want other characters to come in, just comment and I'll figure out how to fit them in. Also, I got a new phone and it doesn't have auto correct, so theres pribably a lot of spelling mistakes and stuff.
